No I don't tell people much.I used to lie when I was a JW telling people I wasn't but my family were.Now I don't say anything unless asked about religion.If people ask me what religion I am I tell them none and why.

by architect inthe lastest study article says in a nut shell that we should tell our new workmates/employer that we are a jw..for you folks who do not attend anymore or you've got out of the "theocratic routine" do you still make it know you are a jw?

I was wondering why he's not wearing a suit?All of the JW's I knew wore suits and dresses in witness work no matter how hot it was.

I'm new here and I just wanted to send you my support.I hope things work themselves out.I DA ed myself 8 years ago while I was living in my parents house.Both at the time stopped talking to me for a while.But slowly they have come around and now we have an open relationship.I tell them everything I do.I don't hide my true self from them.I wish the same for you.Stand up for your self and don't let anyone make you feel bad because you have diffrant views.It's your life do what you feel is best for your self.

Going Door to Door...

Well lets see the old hall I went to covered their territory once a year.It was a small territory.I now live in a suburb an inner ring suburb of Cleveland Ohio called Lakewood.I've live here for 5 years.I have in all my time here seen only one JW.She was doing street witnessing and I was standing at a bus stop.She approached me I told her I'm DA ed thanks but I'm not interested.The local hall used to be down the street from me.The WTS made them sell it because it had black mold.Now they meet at a hall in the next county.So you don't even see them for meetings anymore.You never see them going door to door on the weekends.You never see them during the week going door to door.I've come to believe their invisable now.Their a figment of my imagination.Lakewood has 57,000 people living in it.And only one hall.But I live in the middle of town.So you'ed think I would have had them ring my bell at least once in 5 years.
I live in a secured building.You have to be buzzed in to get in.Their a sister from the spanish hall who lives in my building.I've seen her once coming home from a meeting.I see the magazines in my lobby all the time.But I have never see witnesses or had one knock on my door the whole time I've lived here.I've been in the same building for three years now.I work at night so I'm home durring the day.What's their excuse?

JW urban legends
by Highlander ini remember very few of the details, of when, where and exactly what took place, however a few years ago i was told the story about three elders that were walking together and the middle.
elder was struck and killed by lightning.
the other two elders went to his house to help out his wife and discovered 'apostate' material in their home.

I was a 5 generation JW on my Mom's side of the family.
My grand father told me that when he was little he would go over to the neighbors house to play with their sons.The parents had bought their kids a ojie (SP?) board to play with.It worked so they said.It would move and give them messages.Well my Grand father went over to their house with his brother to play and all of a sudden it would not work.They went out of the room and it worked again.He said it didn't work because Jehovah was protecting him and his brother from the demons.
I also heard about the smurfs.I was not allowed to watch them either.We heard various storys about them comeing alive and attacking witnesses.

before the generation change in 1995, i had read coc and discussed it with my father who has been a jw since the late 60s and had a first-hand-experience on the 1975 fiasco.
he admitted that there was some disappointment.
