Are You Having A Tough Time Making Ends Meet?
by minimus indo you believe we're in a recession?

noni1974
Yes I'm having trouble making ends meet.November was a really bad month for driving a cab.I couldn't pay my rent.So when December rolled around I got another job.I actually got an old job I had years ago back.I paid Novembers rent in December.I expceted to pay Decembers rent in January and January's rent in January. That's not going to happen.Because I had an accident Firday night I can't drive a cab till Monday or Tuesday. However now I'm working a steady job and I won't be able to drive a cab for 12 hours and work a day job at the same time.I've been working 7 days a week 64 hours a week since December.
My landlady has been very understanding.I don't have creidt cards because I prefer to live off the grid so to speak.I pay all my bills in cash.I had 3 shut off notices this week.I paid them just to keep them on.I was expecting to make 250.00 or 300.00 this weekend driving a cab.Which I was planning on giving to my landlady. Now I'm screwed.Plus I had shingles a few weeks ago from all the stress I've been under.
Plus add to that I just had to put 500.00 in my car.My only source of transportation. The work I had done was needed badly.I got the work done before my car fell apart. My boss will take it out in payments from my checks over 3 months.
I'll be ok but it will take longer to get back on track then I expected.I'm hoping for the end of Febuary or begining of March I'll be back on track and caught up with my rent.I'll have to watch what I spend like a hawk.I've been making and bringing my own lunch to work for weeks now.I've been cooking at home.I have been staying away from the bar I used to hang out in.
The cab business has gone down hill fast.I used to make 500.00 to 600.00 a week just working 3 nights a week. Now I hope to make half of that.My plan is to go full time at my day job as soon as I can.My boss is waiting for the busy season to start to give me the hours I want.I'll drive a cab on Saturday nights.I could probally drive Friday nights as well but I have to work Saturdays at my day job when I go full time so it would be very hard to get off work at my day job go and get my cab and drive for 12 hours and go back to the day job for 5 hours before I get any sleep. Then I would have to drive Saturday nights as well.I may be able to do that but I would have to keep it to the weeks I don't get a pay check from my day job.
I feel like I'm killing myself and getting no where for my efforts.

Well it happened I got into an accident at work this morning.
by noni1974 init snow last night from about midnight on.i was at work driving my cab.i usually don't drive in snowy weather but i didn't know it was going to snow last night.i was driving about 40 miles an hour on a plowed but not salted innerstate driving a customer to the airport.i hit an icy patch on the road and spun clear accrost the innerstate doing a complete loop.i hit the wall on the back passenger side.i messed up the bumper and tail light.the passenger was fine and not hurt at all.i hurt my back on impact.i strained some back muscles.. the passenger took it very well concerding he had a flight to leave the country he had to get on.problem was the trunk/boot of the car was smashed in on one side and i couldn't open the trunk to get his luggage out.the dispatcher called the towing company to come out to pry open the trunk/boot but they said they would be an hour.he couldn't wait that long so i took him to the cab company garage.i had a pry bar in my car.i was unable to pry the trunk/boot open myself.another driver was called to come get the guy and he was able to get the trunk/boot open.so he finally got his luggage out so he could go to the airport.. i had to fill out paper work for 2 hours.. lucky for me no other cars were involved and my passenger wasn't hurt.my lease is being held till i go downtown and speak to the big boss.so i can't work for the rest of the weekend.. my landlady is not going to be happy at all.i'm trying to catch back up from being behind on my rent.i went and got another job to help the situation but things keep getting in the way..

Noni,
Lucky for me no other cars were involved and my passenger wasn't hurt.
Ensure that you have this in writing from your passenger. The likelihood is unfortunately that when he/she returns from their trip you, or your company will receive a lawyers letter.
HS
I have better than that.I have 2 witnesses who heard him say he was ok.I had to drive him and the car back to the garage to get a crow bar to open the trunk/boot and both of the dispatchers asked him if he was ok.He said yes to both of them.
I won't have to pay for any damage anyway.I'm covered under the company's insurance.
My back feels much better.I took some advil and went to sleep.I woke up fine.

Yeah the roads in Cleveland suck big time.It doesn't help that I work for a company where drivers have to shop the cars/vans they drive to get any repair work done.Like new tires for instance. If you want new tires because bad weathers coming you have to take time and fill out a form.Which sad to say most drivers don't because they just don't care. Most drivers don't care because they are only driving that car/van for that one night and why take the time out of their night/day to do paper work if they aren't driving that cab again.Sometimes I've had to beg for new tires to be put on the van that I drive all the time.I've even gone over the head of the mechanic who does all of our work and went downtown to their shop for new tires.
I however write shop tickets on almost every car/van I've ever driven. If I hear a noise I write a shop ticket. If it needs shock or struts I write a shop ticket. If it needs tires I write a shop ticket.I was planning one writing on for this cab when I turned it in after my shift.
I'll probally get yelled at for not checking the tires before I left the garage with this car.All I can say was yes I should have checked and I normally do.But I was upset because I had to change out of a van with good tires but no heat.Which means I lost time last night anyway. My regular van was shopped so I could not drive that one.It wasn't snowing when I left the garage with the replacment car.I didn't know it was going to snow anyway.I normally don't drive when it snows for this reason.I won't lose my lease because this is the first time in 3 and a half years that I've worked for them that I gotten into any kind of accident.I'll make sure to check the tires no matter what next time that's for sure.

I had to fill out paper work for 2 hours. My perfect record is now gone.I've never had any kind of accident before in my whole life. This was my first ever that I was driving for.I may go to the hospital later on today. My back is sore.I don't have any muscle relaxers here and I have had back problem since I was a kid of 14.The police were not needed so I won't get any kind of ticket and I'm covered under the company insurance so I won't get sued.
Lucky for me no other cars were involved and my passenger wasn't hurt.My lease is being held till I go downtown and speak to the big boss.So I can't work for the rest of the weekend.I hope to be back to work next weekend.

JW came into work today.
by noni1974 ini was at work in my office as my boss jokingly calls it.a lady walk in to get 2 tires she had ordered put on.i have her sit down to wait because all of my bays were full.i noticed she was reading a small paper bound book.she was underlining it as she read.i got the feeling she may be a jw.i wanted to ask her but i didn't.my number one job at work is to make customers feel comfertable and i thought telling her i'm a raging apostate might make her feel uncomfertable being in the same room with me.. when she opened her walet to give me her visa card i saw the blood card.it confirmed my suspitions of her.. you will be happy to know i got my apostate cooties all over her service car and visa card..

People who would never have been born...if the WTBTS was right!
by gaiagirl ini watched several movies this week, and afterwards, i was thinking about how many performers in those movies would never have been born if armageddon had come in the fall of 1975 as advertised.
stardust featured clare danes and charlie cox, both born long since 1975. resident evil: extinction featured milla jovovitch, whose birthday is actually in december 1975, but it is likely that her parents would have already been dead by then, as they aren't witnesses.
anyone else have favorite people (actors or not) who would not have been born if 1975 had lived up to the big buildup?

Crisis of Conscience stolen from my local library
by neverendingjourney ini finished reading combating cult mind control a few days ago.
i went to the local library to try to get a copy of crisis of conscience.
i had the librarian search for it, and it's not available in any of the municipal library's branches (i live in a fairly large city).
