  Proactive prayers!

  i said this on another thread, but since prayer is "so powerful" why don't sayers of prayers pray that such disasters don't happen in the future.

  it would save a lot of misery and show "god" that you're pro-active.. answer: nothing fails like prayer.. .

  WT Prays for LA Storm victims

  this morning at brooklyn bethel, patterson and wt farms the governing body offered a prayer in behalf of all of the citizens in the la area.

  that jehovah provide the needed protection for all citizens who will be impacted.. .

  the gb prayed that those who would be risking their lives, such as essential personeel will have the needed strength to help all citizens.. .

  Got a letter from my parents...

  well, yesterday evening was a little too emotional for my liking... .

  i got home to find an envelope in my mailbox from my mom and dad... (i was df'ed 4 years ago and haven't spoken to them since) .

  my sister's wedding announcement...she got married earlier this month.

  Anyone, ANYONE who would treat me the way both of you have been treated would never get forgiveness from me, even if they drop out of the cult one day. If a person doesn't have the sense to realize how wrong it is to act that way and are so heartless would never get an ounce of my sympathy.

  I've often had the same thought; however, I also wonder how I would react if one of my family members left the dubs and wanted to resume contact. Would I feel that strongly about then? Don't know.

  why not sacrifice a goat while you're at it just to be safe.

  a number of people of late have noticed the concilliatory stance i take towards the jehovah's witnesses -- both as individuals and even as an organization.

  they have quite rightly pointed out that i appear to "defend" the organization and it's members from attacks that i feel are unwarranted or unnecessary.

  too often, i feel, this forum becomes a gripe session in which mighty ex-jw throngs feel the need to paint the organization or individual jws as totally devoid of any good qualities whatsoever.

  when i was about 16 i had a terrible crush on an older lady (she might have been 30) who was the lovliest person ever.

  she had poise, confidence, intelligence, wit, appreciation and culture.

  i was just a skinny, shy, geeky kid that she took under her wing.

  it was announced that for the 2006 int'l convention overseas, only pioneers for at least 15 years or elders for atleast 15 years are allowed to be delegates.

  has there always been restrictions on who can attend?

  i can't remember as it's been so long ago.

  In about 1990 only elders and their families could go to the conventions in Poland. I applied, but was only a lowly MS. Couldn't go.

  like many have said, it was a sad ending, the last 5 minutes they showed everybody grow old and die.

  ruth of course went first and george was a mess.

  Since every episode began with a death, it seems appropriate that the last one shows all the main characters die. Everyone dis eventually.
