Francois,
If you are serious about learning more about the spin-offs from space exploration, you can get a free subscription to "NASA Tech Briefs." It is a monthly magazine highlighting recent ideas and inventions derived from the space program. I get it myself, and it is great. If you are interested, I can get you information on how to subscribe.

Check out this JW site!
by dins inhi all,.
i was at my grandmother's yesterday and stumbled upon a diary with www.circuitleasing.com on her kitchen table.. seems like the society has their own leasing company now, selling co's cars and they regularly send my gran the information on how to buy since she bought one about 8 years ago from brooklyn.
they are plying her with calendars and key chains this year.. anyway, check the site out and make sure you register for your free keychain too while supplies last.. let me know what you think.. diana

As I mentioned on another thread, I sent for and received my free keychain. What they don't tell you on the circuitleasing website is that it is a "no blood" keychain. This makes me believe that they are focusing on the witness market, and not trying to sell to the general public. I'll give them this; they did send out a very nice looking and professionally made package of information.

Why do us men do all the bad stuff?
by sleepy init seams to me that through out history men have allways commited the worst crimes against humanity.. from despot rulers to serial killers and petty crime , men do the most.. yet to me it seams that on a personnal level men get on better with each other than women.. women are often very senseitive and take offence much more easily.. they can be very bitchy and manipulative.. often men will have an aurgument with a friend and the next day all will be forgotten , while a women can take years to forgive.. so what is it about mens psychology that makes them commit worse crimes than women?.
or it there just the fact that they are physicaly stronger?.
i wonder that if in the future , women are in positions of power more that they will act worse than men have, or if they will show more compassion for others?

The reason that men do most of the bad stuff because they do most of the stuff. If one were to make a different kind of list, perhaps one listing only "good stuff" such who wrote the most beautiful music, or who invented cures for the most diseases, you would see men as the ones doing "all the good stuff."

It seems that they take it for granted that anyone who visits the website already know who they are, even though no mention of their affiliation with the society is made or even hinted to on the website. It is a bit odd for them to make the free keychain offer as they do without even disclosing that it features a "No Blood" directive. While such a trinklet may be appreciated by another dub, it isn't exactly the kind of gift that would win the business of someone who was not of the fold. Hardly a stocking-stuffer for those outside of the organization.
They also included two prestamped postcards in case anyone else wants a no-blood keychain of their own. The line forms to the left - no shoving!

Who remembers this little ditty....
The cabin boy, the cabin boy,
The dirty little nipper
He packed his ass with broken glass
And circumcised the skipper. -

Whats the strangest watchtower/awake article ever
by sleepy inwhats the strangest watchtower/awake or other publication article you,ve ever seen?.
i know theres some very strange old articles , but a few years ago there was one in the awake if i remmember right which had a picture of two brothers holding hands on the ministrty.. one was african the other white.. apparently it was common for men to hold hands in this country and was perectly normal for hetrosexual men to do.. a brother who was a missionary recounted how he was shocked when out with a local brother for the first time on the ministry and the brother took his hand in his.. a lot of people though the article was very odd and didn't like it.

That 1970's-era business about the physical heart being responsible for emotions pushed the needle on my bullshit detector right off the scale.

Thomas' death saddend me as well. He was a very good man, who worked hard and did a great deal to help in the areas he had chosen.
