is there anything that could make you go back?.
what do you think, is there any change of belief or change of circumstance that could make you return to the jw fold?.
i cant see anything that could make me go back, but i was thinking mabye some of you religious types would go back if they changed some doctrinal things,or if they stopped banning blood.. how about if a family member was dying and hoped to see you in paradise would you go back for a while just to make them feel happy?

A magnificent presentation by all three.

I am rethinking my position on prayer lately, but not on God. I do not believe that God exists at all, and therefore do not think that one could communicate with God through prayer. However, I am starting to consider the possibility that prayer or simply taking some quiet time to review and state your wants and desires, may serve to get this message across to your own unconscious mind. Mind you, there is no real proof that an unconscious exists either, but as far as I am concerned it is far more likely to exist than God.

as part of the sign of his presence, jesus said: "furthermore, brother will deliver brother over to death, and a father a child, and children will rise up against their parents and have them put to death.
until recently it was difficult to imagine how such a scenario might play itself out in fulfillment of christ's prophecy.
but, with the ongoing apostasy now accelerating, and the world's financial system rapidly crumbling, and rumors of war a part of daily life, it is becoming increasingly apparent that the stage is being set for jesus' words to become a horrifying reality.
Bobby,
Why limit your important information to the rather obscure discussion forum? Clearly, the majority of us have heard it all before, and are making our life choices with open eyes. It can't be simply a case of heaping up ammo for one big "I told you so" delivered just as we check the internet one last time before jumping out the window to our doom .... can it?
btw - I am off in a few hours to attend a week of classes being held right on Wall Street, so I will be sure to drop you an email "heads-up" the moment I see the first financial analyst's body plummet past.

One way of their getting email addresses for this sort of thing is to run a program that scours discussion forums (like this one) and looks for email addresses in the code. The same sort of programs are also run on newsgroups to garner them from there. There are also many firms which sell lists for whatever purpose you want, and I get a ton of spam offering such addresses.

I get at least three of these a week, and got that one this morning. They are sometimes known as the "419" scam, named after the Nigerian Criminal Code regulation they are (rarely) prosecuted under.
There is an amusing story on the web of a man who convinced his Nigerian scammer to meet him at a hotel for further meetings, and gave the hapless would-be con man a taste of his own medicine.
There is some very funny stuff in there.

i live near some really interesting stone circles derbyshire england, i love visiting this place, i even went late in the day when it was dark, just .
to get the feel of what the place was all about.
some people talk about the personality of each stone circle, strange!
i have a son who was disfellowshipped while suffering serious depression and who was not actively "sinning".. i feel this is outrageous and want to know how widespread the practice is.
please tell me what your experiences are, i am interested and want to try to get the brothers to factor this in, so we can stop losing people to depression.
A related question; how many people are recruited by the organization while they are suffering from depression?
you guys and gals have to read this...it's hillarious!.

It is a parody. It has been around for a while, and is not a real publication of the society.
Relax and enjoy it in the spirit it was written in.
one of my local (pittsburgh) radio/tv stations has created a message board for people to share their thoughts and congratulations with the nine miracle miners.
kdka plans on submitting a bounded copy of all the posts to each of the nine miners.. http://kdka.com/message/quecreekmine.
this was truly a spirited "american" rescue endeavor with a wonderful ending...
I was overjoyed when I heard that they were all safely rescued.
I also viewed the messages on that board, and was taken by the amount of credit given to God for their rescue. I saw none of the credit directed toward what really saved their lives: hard work by smart and well-trained rescuers, a properly-engineered rescue plan, and equipment that was designed, built and operated by skilled people. All the praying in the world would not have done squat to help them, but the dedication of those fine rescuers got the job done. I say thank science, thank modern medicine, and thank human ingenuity for the safe return of those men.
I guess God COULD have made the job a lot easier, but nooooooo.....
