while my wife is mostly doing for me (positive thing), i know she would have rather done it.

This is incredibly sad. It does not make sense. The article was badly written and why not just come out and say whoever was 'monitoring' his computer? Don't even know how they would do that unless you had connections with homeland security. Maybe they do eh? Dubs with deep pockets and all. Wifi wouldn't do it but I'm not an expert.
It is sad. Where was the help, there is always a reason why people do what they do and usually it's that there needs are not being met somewhere. just found out (second hand of course) and by someone on here that my faithful jw mum passed away within the last couple of days, dont know the exact day, and what cause, she spent the last few years living with my fanatical sister, she was 65 and survived my father by 10 years, bitter, angry and hateful till the end and never as so much enquired or asked how her 2 grandchildren ever were , they are 5 and 7!
feeling a mixture of emotions right now, they were lousy parents in all honesty, she suffered health wise so maybe its for the best, dont even know when the funeral is!
all i want is this: for us to be a family, to spend time together enjoying life.
i don't wish to debate about their beliefs when together.
they can remain jws for all i care.
Hey I'm really sorry about your situation. I know so many people here can truly sympathise. No it's not right and it is never about love and wishing the df'd person to come back. The new rule a while back was that certain chosen sheeple could make ministry calls on the df'd to encourage them back and to talk spiritually with these ones! Elder approved nominees of course. Bizarre little rules they make up for themselves. I have discussed many times with my elder bro about having a family gathering for my Mum including my df'd bro while she is still alive instead of an awkward funeral but no way. Could not put aside faith for a day. I've argued that IS their faith so weak that their conscience be that affected by showing love for our Mum?
I really think that in their heads they get kudos from big J or the borg for displaying such unfaltering loyalty. I have given up that score but point out the hypocrisy of talking to me or my nieces who no longer practice that in all reality we are just the same sinners but eh - we don't have a label or were clever enough to be 'sorry' and not get the label.

my wife grew up without a religious upbringing.
she was passed down a german bible given to her grandfather in 1935 which had a hand written inscription by two jewish colleagues of her grandfather at the time.
