Sorry but that simply is not true. Quite a few Witnesses have read this book. You may wish to believe this but it is not accurate.

Are Civil Marriges Acceptable?

my sister has a sister in law who has been with her partner for over 15 yrs and they have recently decided to make their union legal by getting married in a civil court.

now they wish to become active in the local congregation.

they have been told that they are not recognized as being married by the elders until they have been married by an elder.

You might want to show that elder the following from the Watchtower magazine October 15, 2006, pages 18-23)(HONORABLE WEDDINGS)

"14) In some lands where customary marriage is recognized as legal, there are also provisions for civil (or, statutory) marriage. A civil marriage is usually carried out before a government agent, and. it may include both taking marriage vows and signing a registrySome Christian couples prefer this civil marriage to a customary one. There is no legal need for both; each procedure is legally valid. What is said in paragraphs 9 and 10 about a wedding talk and vows applies here too. The main thing is that the couple are married in a way that is honorable before God and man. -Luke 20:25; 1 Peter 2:13, 14."

well, here is where things are as of today with rca.

after following many of your suggestions and finding an operator willing to do their job, it appears i have a new rca dvd recorder on its way.

Well that's something good then.

However I currently have two RCA TV's that are 8 and 10 years old. They are both still going strong without any hint of trouble. One bad product doesn't mean everything made is junk, nor does one bad experience with customer service.
