Elder Jailed for Child Abuse

i was talking to an ex-elder whos father an elder for 30 years who also served as the congregations p/o and as the old congregations servant prior to the 1972 arrangement.. .

he stated that he does not believe in god any longer as his father whilst serving as the cong p/o had been molesting his 2 sisters and his 2 daughters.

this happened over a 25 year period.

over the past few months i've found it hard not to feel anger and bitterness at wasting my youth on the watchtower , all the things i didn't do that i wanted to and will never be able to, at least not in the same way.. learning my father is dying of cancer has not helped, i feel his life was wasted in the truth, he was only tring to do what he thought was right.i think of my parents as a young couple just married in 1972, and reciveing a call from two young witnesses of a similar age.they must have believed they had found something special that they could give to their children.. sometimes i wish these things had not happened.. and yet would my life had been better if they hadn't?.

would my parents still have been together after 30 years, what would my childhood have been like if my dad had not learned to control his temper?being a natural rebelious idividual how would i have turned out, knowing how most of my friends from school turned out?would i have developed the qualities that i now value without by upbringing?not worring about being different anymore?would the paths i could have gone down been any better?i would certainly have not met my wife, and the experiences i have enjoyed as a result,my desire to now push myself and accomplish something great in my life may not have developed so strongly, the desire that may possible move me to success.. the irony is that being brough up a witness has shaped my personallity, determined the people i have met and those i have avoided, maybe my life would not have been so could if those witnesses had never called on my parents.

just wanted you all to know i have finally got my hubby to visit the forum.

he will be posting also (he is a man of few words so he may be a newbie forever lol) .

we of course have the same ip address in case you noticed that, just didn't want you to think i had a personality disorder lol you will find we differ on everything but that is what makes for good conversation after almost 19 years lol.

My Story

in 1990 my mother married an american guy from that she had met while working for an aircraft company.

my brother was not allowed to visit me and they even turned him against me.

the relationship that my mother and i have will never be like what we had.

At last, I approached my Dub sister !!!!

haven't posted much of late, very tied down with work and enjoying the hols at the mo, a very xmas to you all......thought i'd relate this to you......to cut a long story short, i eventually emailed my dub sister on some family business and then at the end of my mail in a low key manner wrote that i heard something interesting about the wts and them being affiliated, and i mentioned the generation change for good measure, and left it at that.....within half an hour i rec'ed my first email from my sister also discussing the family business and then she said she was interested in the un thing, never heard of it?!?!?!

(her hubby and brother are both elders) could i send her more information.......she also went on to say that yes the definition of the generation did change but it wasnt a major doctrine like "blood" !?!?!?!?!?!

and many people left "the truff" because of it...............so i wrote back with a synopsis and a link to "randy's" page on the matter..............a few days passed and i had to write to her again and i asked her if she had looked in to it and her words were, "i must of been walking around with my ears shut cause everybody else knows about but me, but i will into it more..................anyway i'm hoping i've sown a few seeds of doubt in there, albeit i felt some of her comments were strange....................your comments are welcome on my next plan of action.

Taming of a Beast (Long post)

it was back in 1993, the last day of work before christmas.

70 of us were laid off that day (after 6 months notice), and left at lunch, never to go back.

oh animal......what you wrote was beyond outstanding.....thank you so very very much for opening up.....i am in therapy also....i want to become a whole person some day....

i am so proud of you for "making it" maybe some day i will graduate like you....((((((((animal)))))))))

Just got off the phone to Dad

my dad has no idea how to use a puter let alone get on the net.. so i rang him up just now...and told him what i've been up to...about this site and all, and how it's helped me found out a whole lot of information, usually hidden from the r&f and how some ex jw's are doing a really great job, by staying on the inside and doing what they can to provide info to expose corrupt dealings by the gb....he was flabbergasted...and i might add very impressed,,,lol isn't that cool?.

well i told him there are spies everywhere now, and the wts is really starting to feel the affects...pity the net wasn't around years ago huh guys?

anyway..to cut a long story short....i asked him during his time as the po in his cong.
