  Black JW are Losing Out on Opportunities

  a few days back a thread was started that dealt with persons who had given up things in behalf of the "truth" college, retirement, dreams, etc.

  as a black man i see the impact that wt has had on me, thankfully i live in an area where if you are a black person you can have opportunities that as a black person you may not find in miss.. .

  i look back at myself at all the job advancements i turned down due to being a jw, i used to work for a white guy who told me, james you have the abilities that would make you a good manager, i said to myself --no way-- i see you guys working 50-60 hours a week, and i got meetings and parts yes responisiblities in the congregation that are far more important than some "job" .

  i've been thinking a lot recently about the interaction between people in the exjw community and it seem to me that the "jw experience" (sounds like a theme park ride doesn't it?

  ) polarises behavior somewhat between two extremes:.

  we know in the jw scheme of things that friendships are very 'superficial'.

  in my current life i know a lot of people who live together.

  some of them might have done this because they do not like marriage, and others have done this as a step towards getting married.

  in all, in my post-witness life i find that i have no problem with either view.

  i have been searching for a job since march, and finally got one waiting tables at a pool hall.

  they fired me today due to "pushing" someone that i asked to excuse me.

  then i was told that my "attitude" was a reason.

  at first, sorry for my bad english.. i found this forum in bbc when i was looking for something about jws because this sect became a big problem in my life 3 or 4 months ago.. last 4 years, it began on elementary and now it continues on high school, i was in love with one girl, but i didn't know much about her, because she was entering group b and i was entering group a in the school.

  i wanted to know more about her so i didn't tell it her and long time i hoped that will be a situation when i will speak with her.

  but this wasn't happened.

  life is too short for this kind of a headache...you just have NO IDEA what all is involved here...believe me,,,the turmoil is NOT WORTH IT....your agony will be beyond words should you get involved...

  FIND SOME ONE ELSE....AND THEN COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS....

  not too many notice our coming and going, and i guess that's one of the advantages of an online forum.

  but more and more lately, i don't know if it's me, or the forum, but i've noticed more and more hate.

  we've always disagreed, so i don't know if lately we just bring more bullshit to the board or what, but there's this splitting of sides.
