i have tried all of these.. they are truly invigorating, but distressing too.. apparently plunging your feet into ice water has the same effect as a cold bath.. i read that it boosts your circulation and immune system.. any medics care to comment?.

It has been said that alternating between hot and cold in the shower releases the same endorphins that getting a massage does.
I love to end all of my showers with a cold rinse.
Also, when I get migranes, doing the hot and cold shower several times over is completely relaxing and helps stave off some of the pain.

I did not see the video and have just now heard of it. Obviously, I don't come here as much as I used to in the past. However, I find it odd that persons are getting bent out of shape because someone started a little poll. Here on JWD there are tons of topics started, questions asked and polls and I doubt that everyone always know why they started a poll, asked a question or started a topic. Most of the time I find that it is a way of getting to know the people you are chatting with. I have seen topics on "what kind of music do you like", "what is your favorite food" etc. If everyone was like me on JWD and very rarely started a topic or even posted a comment, even one that people are not too interested in, then there really wouldn't be a JWD anymore. If you don't like the thread and the motives you see behind it or don't see, leave the thread. Why get angy?

without giving my personal opinion i would like to ask the board, 'what is your view of children with mowhawk haircuts'.
our family has an ongoing debate as to what is considered an acceptable hairstyle for boys age 5-8. please be unbiased reguards what you may think is my personal feeling.

About a year ago, the whole faux hawk was in style. My three year old son wanted his hair cut shorter and like his cousins hair cut, which was styled as a faux hawk. We cut it in that style and it was real cute when he let us fix it but most of the time he didn't like having his hair messed with that much. Personally, I like longer hair but since he wanted it short it didn't bother us to have the faux hawk going on.
I am glad that it is now acceptable to cut or grow our hair anyway we want. I don't have any problem with hair cuts, I have my personal taste but it is hair, it will grow and it is fun to get to play sometimes.
My parents are now grandparents and the only thing that bothers them with our kids is if that act like monsters in public. If the haircut makes them act out then I would see a problem, otherwise, let them eat cake.
