It's starting to filter down to the R&F. I spoke with a fully in friend recently who has some Bethel contacts. He said he was told that they are facing lawsuits and that Bethel is going through a tough period. Of course, the bethelite and my friend said that these were "attacks from Satan's world". At least the word is spreading. Maybe some will hear and wake up. -

Mobile Hotspot - JWFACTS.COM - Assembly & Conventions
by thedepressedsoul inhere is an idea i tested.
works at both assemblies and conventions.
i have noticed at the last convention and at my last assembly that when i opened up my wifi setting, tons of hotspots came up for people tethering their tablets to their smart phones.

A piratebox is a file sharing box. It broadcasts a wifi signal. It will show as an available wifi connection. After someone connects to it, any website they go to will redirect them to the homepage of the box. Similar to how Starbucks, Target, and other companies redirect you to an agreement page when connecting to their wifi. You can put files and information on the home page of the box. There is also a chat feature that can be setup.
There are a couple of ways to set one up. If you have an old Android phone that is rooted, you can use it. Otherwise there are devices you can buy for around $50. One who tried it at a convention said that he saw several people connecting and that attendants were going around trying to figure where the signal was the strongest to try and locate the box.

An even better idea is to setup a PirateBox. It doesn't provide internet access, but it does provide access to files and chat. Some have done it over on reddit.

Did an EX-JW wake you up to TTATT or did you put the effort to wake up yourself?
by John Aquila inhow many of us were woken up by some apostate yelling false prophets at a convention?.
how many of us were woken up by someone holding a sign and yelling, what happened to 1975.
how many of us were coerced to investigate the wt because some ex-jw pulled up a bunch of old watchtowers magazines and told us to read the false predictions?.

A non-JW relative asked me to explain some things. I realized that there was no explanation. Then I started researching some doubts that I had put on the back burner for a long time. The rest was history. -

Light Getting Brighter
by awokenjw inhello, maybe someone on here can make some sense out of this:.
one of the reasons why jws are so quick to believe any changes from the gb is that they believe the light is getting brighter.
now there have been some teachings that to my knowledge changed at one point but then were reverted back to the original teaching.

The generation changes is a recent example of a flip-flop.
1927 - 1951: Generation = anointed1951 to 1995: Generation = those born before 1914 (a limited time frame)
1995 - 2008: Generation = wicked men who don't accept the sign (no time frame on when the generation will end)
2008 - 2010: Generation = anointed (again open ended as to when the generation will end)
2010 - current: Generation = anointed from 1914 that overlap with another group that live during the first groups lifetime (back to a limited time frame for the generation)

How many of us are 'perfectionists'?
by FayeDunaway ini made a medium level mistake at work today, and when i make mistakes it really shakes me up and takes me a long time to recover.
it completely rattles me, makes me feel awful about myself.
my mind keeps going back to the mistake reliving how i could have let it happen.

I relive mistakes from decades ago that I'm sure the other parties don't even remember. It's the guilt complex that we're instilled with. -

Is the end of Watchtowers hated No Blood doctrine in sight?
by nicolaou ini won't pretend to know things that i don't but just look at the incredible rate of change we've witnessed recently.
it seems that since candace conti and the australian royal commission the watchtower are scrabbling around to shore up their finances in the face of unprecedented legal action against them.. abuse settlement claims are one thing but what happens when children die as a result of your religious teachings?!
you can bet wt legal are arguing for a complete rewrite of policy to protect the organisation from litigation.. do you think their religious privilege will protect them forever?

They can't just do away with it, though, because too many would realize that they're responsible for thousands of deaths (and even bragged about it).
Well, they bragged about how "faith strengthening" it was for brothers to go to jail for not accepting civil service right after they made it a "conscience issue". I could see them doing the same for blood. As sickening as it sounds, I could see them printing: "In light of our new understanding what about parents, children, friends, and relatives that lost loved ones because they refused a blood transfusion? We should remember their faith as Jehovah will. Jehovah will not forget the strong stand that they took. BLAH BLAH BLAH..."

I think they still might. They have done similar reversals in prior decades. They would still be protected from lawsuits after reversing the doctrine by the first amendment. If they reverse it now, they can avoid JWs being put in jail for refusing blood transfusions for their children.
Although, in recent years, they no longer try to remove the child from the hospital in order to avoid transfusions. Nowadays, they just let the hospital get a court order and comfort the parents by saying that there was nothing they could do. So, they may just leave it as is. The only way I see this blowing up is if a child needs some other procedure that definitely requires blood and the parents keep the child from the hospital so that he/she will not be taken and given blood.

Not on a WTS Cover - Famine Continues to Decline

I fear that the remainder may become even more fanatical as they try to adjust to the new reality and the ever changing WT dogma.
I fear this too. So many have put in so much time and are so ingrained that they would believe/do whatever the magnificent 7 told them to do. They will become more insular and maybe more paranoid.

JW reasoning...
News that supports worsening conditions = Armageddon near!!!
News that doesn't support worsening conditions = It can't be too obvious that Armageddon is near!
