  College deletions?

  according to our new co, elders nor their children are allowed to go to college.

  my dad is being deleted.

  evidently new material was presented at the elder school.

  I've never heard such a rule about the college thing.

  Blondie, your're right about that last ref. to the WT article on celebrating one's newly baptismal. But I did get a card from a sister in my hall. (She was a regular pioneer who was deathly afraid of getting pregnant and was religiously on the pill-but I saw her 2 months ago and she's got a daughter now, blew up like a whale and is struggling as a cashier at Home Depot; How sad.)

  Anyways-yeah, after my baptismal my folks did not take me out to dinner, no gifts, just a hug and a reminder that "now if I messed up I would have to ansewr to Jehovah" Gee, Mom-that advice has really lit up my day.

  Did you ever go out in Field Service on Thanksgiving or Christmas morning

  i never had a problem with going door to door except for the holidays.. one, i felt like we were intruding on our neighbors who set aside time be with their loved ones.. two, it just made me feel more different and jealous that i was not celebrating the holidays with my family.. any thoughts?

  Got cussed out, slammed in the face with doors and one lady threw a turkey bone at the sister I was preaching with.

  JW Events, Dress Codes and You

  if you were to attend say a wedding or a funeral that was being held in the kingdom hall would you make an effort to be presentable according to jw standards or go as you are?

  (we aren't talking about violating codes of human decency here).

  would you say a woman going to a funeral should have to wear a dress or a skirt?

  Good question but I am guessing its directed more towards ex-jws's right?

  Well, I know me personally-the wedding I went to last week; I was real apprehensive about my low-cut top (although the twins were sitting pretty) and thought someone would say something. (Instead I got brothers forgetting that my eyes were straight ahead and not down at my chest.

  As far as funerals? Isn't there some cardinal rule that one should NOT wear black since this would be a "wordly custom" that we should avoid. I would avoid black at all times even if it was part of the alfit just because of this rule. How ridiculous!

  right now my cousin, who has'nt even been a dub for years is likely dying because of the blood issue.

  she signed no blood stuff likely due to her parents and a likely hlc member, jim rife.

  she signed it apparently in a drugged or severely stressed state right before they put her into an incuced coma.

  honestly- It sounds like you have a strong case here. You should definetly pursue to this to the courts. Write your local newspaper.Write your governors, your congressmen. Young mother being forced by religious cult into signing away rights to live- you never know- this could turn into something big.

  What weird/strange expierence you've seen/had with a DUB?

  i remember a sister and i in service and we were lost finding the territory.

  instead of making a u-turn into a church parking lot right beside us to turn back around (we were on a one-way street and cars were behind us) she refused and instead went all the way down to the end of the road, into a neighborhood, and onto someone's driveway just to turn around.

  Short for Jehovah's wittnesses as in saying "JW" for short but instead of saying the letter W you shorten it by just "Dub" and so Jehovahs' wittnesses turns into just "Dub".

  I've heard the nightmarish stories of the abuse that elders have put on their wives..but as naive as it may sound it still seems so hard to believe sometimes i guess b/c I have never heard or seen it done in my con. ever.

  And its funny how you hear DUBS boast about them compared to "Christendom" where priests rape young girls and homosexuals are allowed in.

  Why isn't the media able to shed a better light as to what goes on in the Kingdom Halls? If they are able to do it in churches than why not there too?
