"Jehovah" always scared me as a little girl. "jehovah" is always watching honey, so you better be good!" I'd be like "damn, even when I gotta take a dump? Ugh!"

JWs and the movie "The Village"
by jstalin ini was thinking, on my way to work this morning, that the movie the village is a lot like the jws.
in the movie, several families live in a false 1800s village in the middle of the forest that only a few people knew was fake.
in order to keep the villagers in line, they created a fake monster that would roam the woods at night and scare the crap out of people, so no one dared leave.

Watchtower's view of "Hindu" women exposes themselves!
by Atlantis inwatchtower's view of hindu women exposes themselves!
the article below indicates that the united nations would only get farther away from god if women were involved with it.
the nationality of a hindu woman running for its presidency is mentioned.

I thought it was good. Made me cry but thats just cause I'm such a sap. Ludicris was alright in it. But I just saw him as Ludicris the rapper and nothing more. Excellent portayal of race in this country and how others think about it. P.S Any white women out there really feel they'd be accused as a racist if they decide to cluth that purse just a lil tighter while walking down the street near a black man?

What struck me too was how they avoided mentioning the 1995 change in the generation doctrine.
Are we speaking about what my mother used to always tell me when I was younger:that I may never die at all b/c the new system is so close? I used to hear that all the time. That "this system will by no means pass away until these things take place" Than years later i stopped hearing it. I have so much to learn still!

Most congregations adopted this resolution, and the few that did not soon lost their spiritual vision and the privileges they had in connection with Kingdom service.
I'm learning more in this thread then I have at any meeting!!! -

Why did the WTS (Rutherford) take on the name "Jehovah's Witnesses"? To separate themselves from the Bible Students that had left, 75% of 90,434 who attending the memorial in 1925
Can someone elaborate on this a little more if they have any info on this.
