How long would it take? (Physics question, sort of. Maybe)
by AlmostAtheist inlet's say i've got a length of solid material that is one light year long.
it's just hanging there in space, between galaxies, not affected by gravity enough at any point along its length to be twisted, bent, whatever.
let's also say that it is resistent to flexing.. i'm at one end of this impossibly-existing rod, and you are at the other.

yeah great childhood Darth, same as all of ours!! How crap was that, all i wanted to do was go out dressed as ET or something, just to fit in but NO, we had to go and be told what wastes of space we were because we only did 8 hours service that month!! All witness kids should be taken away from their parents and made wards of court. If only their was a Law against forcing your religion on your kids.... Shits me no end, your most formative years, where nature makes you the person you are, interupted by the insidious beliefs and doctrines of madmen. I still wonder what i would of been if i wasn't brought up a dub.

12 Parsecs, if the rod was doing the Kessel Run IMHO!
Wouldn't the rod ends move exactly the same distance simultaneously, although to track the movement physically from one end to the other would take one light year, assuming that theres nothing faster than light. But if you put the recording device in the middle of the beam, it would take 0.5 of a light year to record the movement if you relay the push movement signal from the centre and receive and send from both ends at the same time? -

yeah I used to play this online game called PsychoBabble, and in the good old days it was a laugh and made loads of mates. I still chat to them on the odd occasion when im on MSN, but there was one women who was on their who convinced everyone she was dying of cancer etc.. it was all a sham, she had loads of people fooled, turns out it was a man in the end!

How do JW's refer to DF and DA?
by Jourles ini cannot for the life of me remember how i used to refer to ones who were df'd or had da'd while i was a jdub.
i *think* i used to say "so and so was disfellowshipped" rather than "so and so was df'd.
" but i can't remember.. a few days ago, i briefly overheard someone say "was df'd," which caught my immediate attention.

Minimus Is Demonized

she told my mom that twice last week, "the demons pushed her" and caused her to fall.

I can't read the WT and AWAKE anymore

lately, i have been thinking that this is one of the reasons that the society does not encourage higher education.
try handing in an essay without your name on it, try not referencing your essay, try having no works cited, try to have only 1 works cited, try quoting out of context, try spewing statistics or numbers or trends in your essay with no reference or date, add ellipsis that only alert your instructor to the potential of hidden information, or try presenting as support for your thesis a third party quote.

yeah i used to snore my way through them every week! My dad had the dubious pleasure of being the SO for a time, so we got to see them before everyone else, i used to crack up at the crap they spouted. Imagine going for a top job, "and you educated where? Oh i read the WT and Awake for 10 years" Welcome to Microsoft! Dont think so! So theyre still the same crap rehashed churned over as usual eh? What a waste of natural resources. Maybe we should get the environmentilists involved in mounting a campaign on their wastefulness, might put a spanner in their works!

Oh and scoping the DA with binoculars looking for hotties, shame they all looked like Maude Flanders. PLus they wouldn;t be interested in a spiritually weak chap such as myself, it must have been the pack of malboros pressing against my lapel badge that put em off.
The only thing i miss is corrupting the youth to think for them selves, i saved a few i reckon.
