Joining the JWs in their "Street work"
by Snoozy inyep..a church here in mo was in the news today.
they are headed for the streets to witness to the passerbys.. they said they are following christ's footsteps.
people even stopped in their cars and rolled the windows down..and gave them an opportunity to "preach" to them.. then the "preacher" put a ash cross on the person's forehead.. hummm....reminds me of when the witnesses first started going out in service..i wonder when the church will start branching out from the streets and actually go door to door?.

I gave my roommate the letter about the Watchtower changes
by oppgirl63 inshe just read it and handed it back to me.
i think she believes me because i have never told her anything regarding the jw's that wasn't true.
she really didn't have anything to say about it, and i didn't question her.

Do you still believe in the Return of Christ? 66% says in 2007
by magdalenefan ini thank you for your support for my sadness over my divorce, and not taking in the faith of the witnesses no more.
i tried the search engine for some articles and it said it was being updated.. i am still believing in the word of god, i dont believe anymore in greedy people.
how many here believe that christ will still return?.

Yes I believe that Christ will return one day to bring the rule of mankind to an end. I don't think he will show up on the earth and start butchering people.

On a (minor) downer
by Fe2O3Girl inand it is all vicarious, but boo hoo.. i had a phone call first thing this morning from a good friend i used to work with, to tell me that one of our old colleagues had collapsed and died at work yesterday.
it wasn't someone i was close to, he was a quiet bloke, but nice, with a great dry humour.
and he was only in his forties.. so i ring another lady we used to work with to let her know the sad news, and she tells me her husband has pancreatic cancer and secondary liver cancer.

Question for Believers: How can God be PERFECT?
by kid-A inseveral weeks ago the issue of god's 'perfect nature' came up on a thread.
the concept of "perfection" is a persistent in vitually all faith traditions and theological constructs.. jws in particular, have an obsession with the concept of perfection and use it regularly in their propaganda: "live forever in a perfect paradise earth"; "live forever in perfect health"; "humans and animals will live together in perfect harmony", etc etc...... the point was raised about the possibility or impossibility of god being perfect.
if we begin with the basic judaeo-christian tenet that god created the universe from nothingness, then he is the designer and creator of every single entity, sentient or non-sentient, and object within reality.
