After Jesus had been born in Beth´le·hem of Ju·de´a in the days of Herod the king, look! astrologers from eastern parts came to Jerusalem, 2 saying: "Where is the one born king of the Jews? For we saw his star [when we were] in the east, and we have come to do him obeisance." 3 At hearing this King Herod was agitated, and all Jerusalem along with him; 4 and on gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people he began to inquire of them where the Christ was to be born. 5 They said to him: "In Beth´le·hem of Ju·de´a; for this is how it has been written through the prophet, 6 ‘And you, O Beth´le·hem of the land of Judah, are by no means the most insignificant [city] among the governors of Judah; for out of you will come forth a governing one, who will shepherd my people, Israel.’"

Then Herod secretly summoned the astrologers and carefully ascertained from them the time of the star’s appearing; 8 and, when sending them to Beth´le·hem, he said: "Go make a careful search for the young child, and when YOU have found it report back to me, that I too may go and do it obeisance."9 When they had heard the king, they went their way; and, look! the star they had seen [when they were] in the east went ahead of them, until it came to a stop above where the young child was. 10 On seeing the star they rejoiced very much indeed. 11 And when they went into the house they saw the young child with Mary its mother, and, falling down, they did obeisance to it. They also opened their treasures and presented it with gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh. 12 However, because they were given divine warning in a dream not to return to Herod, they withdrew to their country by another way.

Gifts were giving to Jesus for being born king. Was it on his birthday that the wise men showed up to his house? Why did "Jehovah" allow these men to make it to Jesus' house in the first place?

So Jesus’ birthday was celebrated with gifts and it was acceptable to God! (or as you would like to call Him Jehovah)

he uses terms like: .

~ its okay if you dont recognize gods sovergnty .

~ its okay , you dont know better, if you knew what i knew then you wouldnt (celebrate xmas) lol .. i told him i knew what he knew, and its irrelevant, havent gotten to the fact they can play with pinatas because they dont mean the same thing they used to.

Jesus celebrated his birthday along with his parents, as they accepted the gifts brought to them by the wise men. If God did not what Jesus to have these gifts & his patents celebrating his birth God would have stopped the wise men from reaching Jesus’ home.

Amen.

Being of the "Anointed Class" myself I must say I have my suspicions about some of the women who say they are Anointed"! I am certain after talking to Jehovah that women are not going to be kings in heaven with me!

Yet some of them insist they are of the "Anointed Class", I am going to put out an updated view on this matter relieving all females from this group. I am in charge of the WTBTS.

PS. Keep up the good work & send more money!

when you gather with the same people for decades, they get to know you inside out.

they know where you work, have a good idea how much money you earn, know if you have sex or not, know your personal tastes, know where you go on vacations and so on..... were there things you were able to keep them from knowing?.

2008 and still no Armagedon!!! I feel like I made an "Ass of myself"

yes sitting in pizza hut in 1991 a small band of pioneer brothers {me and friend's} debated when armagedon would come.

due to the "generations" doctrine, we calculated 2001 at the latest...then the doctrine was dropped!!!

recently the last world war 1 vetran died in australia.

That is how I felt in 1979 when the great tribulation didn't start cumulating with Armageddon.

Scamed on Ebay

i bought what was advertized as a sapphire and diamond 10 k ring.what i got was a coustume plated fake gold fake sapphire fake diamond ring.i was also way over charged for shipping.i was charged $14.99 and i asked the seller if it would be insured for that price.they said it would be.they paid $1.13 for the shipping and no insurance.. .

i've made a report to both ebay and paypal.i'm thinking of reporting it to my visa card company.now i'm waiting for the seller to reply to me.now what?

?i'm new to this ebay thing.should i shipp it back to the seller?

Science v Creationism

science v creationism.

i keep popping back here every now and then to see whats going on, and i have noticed that the same questions about science and creationism are continually posted and answered now, as they were when i first came here.

for example, the statement that the sun and not the earth is the centre of the solar system is a scientific statement (the heliocentric theory) that is considered valid because it explains a large body of evidence (facts from the real world).

Lies on Line...I always thought JWD was a forum for Honesty

after finding this forum and being raised in the jw religion, i found jwd a refreshing place for honest feelings, fears, life experiences etc.. the history of the jw's was exposed, and those who lived any experience under this regime has been told by many members.. to be lied to by any forum member is insulting.

i have over my past year and 1/2 come to love many posters.

i realize many more have much longer time put in here.. i have been honest and exposed more of my self than i care to think about, but always kept in mind that others were doing the same and it was best for anyone new.. to lie on this forum to all of these members is horrible and i am questioning why i am so honest here.
