If you can convince a kid that God lives in the ceiling fan, you can convince a kid of anything. -

Paint Nite - fun evening and a new hobby
by Simon inwe (and by 'we', i mean my wife) decided that we should try something new and she, erm, i mean 'we', liked the idea of painting.
so i enthusiastically (i.e.
begrudgingly) went along for the night to the "pain nite" event she'd booked us for a couple of weeks ago.. the premise is pretty simple: it's held in a pub or restaurant, all the art supplies are provided, the instructor then walks you through how to reproduce a painting they have chosen for the night and you have a glass of wine or beer, do some painting, have something to eat, have some more wine, more painting, more wine, realize you are drinking the dirty paint water and so on.. here's the site: https://www.paintnite.com/.

The yellow book was My Book of Bible Stories. That was really the first book I was brought up on. I don't remember exactly how old I was when the red paradise book came out, but I was between 5 and 10.
The picture of Jezebel in the Bible Stories book was the one that always terrified me the most. I'm not sure why.

Well, I asked a question and his answer blew me away
by Lost his mind infirst time, been lurking for years, but i asked my husband who has been studying for 20 plus years if he has ever questioned those that were "teaching" him.
blew my mind.
i ask him all the questions that you have asked yourself, but he will not ask them.

Sorry for my first time rant.
No apologies needed! I thought that was a great first time rant! The first of many, I hope!
And yeah, it is pretty amazing when you realize everyone around you doesn't question anything. It kind of seems a little "stepford" like, at first. But really it makes sense when you think about it.
If all their members questioned what they were told, they wouldn't have any members. I guess that's why some people call them a cult.

When my niece was very little (over 20 years ago), barely walking or talking, my mother decided to teach her "where Jehovah lives". She would coach her and say, "Where does Jehovah live?" in a sing-song voice. And my niece learned to point up. It was like a pet trick, really. And this pet trick was always taught and performed in our living room.Well, we were sitting in the kitchen when my sister came to pick up my niece, and my mother wanted to show off what the little one had learned. She asked her in the same sing-song voice she always had, "Where does Jehovah live?"
My niece promptly jumped down, toddled into the living room, and pointed at the ceiling fan.
A couple of years later, she thought Jehovah was yellow, thanks to the Revelation book. I am proud to say my niece is a fellow ex-JW today. I guess the lessons never quite took.
When I was a little kid, I got to look at all the pretty, comforting pictures in the red Paradise book several hours a week when I sat mind-numb at all the meetings. My lucky little niece got to look at the Revelation book, instead.
I wonder what book they use today to give little children nightmares about Armageddon?

Governing Body Needs To Fight For Social JusticeCalifornia’s low-wage workers now earn less than in 1979
by RoyalFlushPhil injws with good jobs need to thank themselves for not quitting their job because the trend is things are going to get worse as wages drop and inflation eventually moves upward.
the housing market shows this mess happening right before our very eyes, think about the rental markets, their really tight because people don't have money to buy houses and they don't have the down-payment.
many have fear their investment won't grow like they did prior to the 2008 meltdown years, their lack of conviction is driving rental prices higher.

Types and anti types
by Deltawave inaccording the watchtower study of may 10th, it has been made clear no prophetic meaning should be given to a a scripture or passage unless the bible itself gives clear interpretation of it.
therefore daniel 7 especially gives it's fulfillment to nebuchadnezzar only.
no future kingdom or 2520year wait til 1914. no gentile times or "this generation".

You know what is sad? I wonder how many people were disfellowshipped for pointing out the exact same things that this article did. They are admitting they that they have "gone beyond the things that are written" for years, but when r&f members have claimed this in the past, they disfellowshipped them. -

Wow. I can hardly believe what I'm reading! They are actually admitting to what they taught in the past AND admitting it was wrong? Wow! That's a change from deny, deny, deny. I guess the copyright on those old books aren't old enough for them to completely deny yet. -

Can you provide quotes or pics of what exactly was written in the WT? I have been out for a while. Thanks!
