I never understood the whole Jesus started ruling in 1914 thing. I always thought ... you mean he is ruling and he is just LETTING Satan and the demons do horrible things to us? Wow! Be a king and do something! Can we impeach him or something? It just never made sense. -

The Watchtower Corporation gets to legally keep all the money and property assets, even if it does fail or reduce in numbers
by Finkelstein ini think its vitally important to realized that the wts now has as of this year probably close to 2 billion in overall assets worldwide that it can live off for a very long time.
i get this gut feeling that the wts heads are positioning themselves and the organization in tentative survival mode for the long run.. so many cut backs, the selling off of many branches, the down sizing of much of its operations, are all tell tale hints that even the heads of this organization are preparing for the eventful devolving of this organization.
the wts gb leaders say that jah's chariot is moving along at a faster pace but in reflection of how this organization been conducting itself as of late, that wouldn't necessarily be the real truth of the matter.

the organization must settle all outstanding liabilities and distribute any leftover funds according to the provision set in its charter.
First of all ... this will never happen. But if it did, who would they distribute money to? Would they allowed to "distribute" it to another country or would it stay here in the US? They certainly would't give it back to it's members.
It still makes me sad they try eek so much money out of their members when their members are all poor and uneducated.

Why Me?
by Grey Goose init the question that i have found myself constantly asking myself the past few months.
out of all the jws i interact with, why did it have to be me that woke up from this mess?.
i am relieved that i have woken up to the bullshit, but a side of me misses that fuzzy feeling of being a 100% believer.

It will seem surreal for a while. It's like waking up from the Matrix. All I can say is "hang in there". I have also sometimes wished that I had never "woken up". Sometimes I wish I was still a part of it, a part of the "belonging", but it wasn't real. And it was always conditional. I am so much happier now, and the longer I am away, the more they seem ... kind of crazy. -

Peer Pressure amongst witnesses
by stuckinarut2 inhave you noticed just how strong peer pressure is amongst witnesses?.
the desire to match or better one another's "spiritual accomplishments" or decisions in life?.
pioneering - because it is the "right" thing to do.. answering at meetings...perhaps multiple times - because it is the "right" thing to do.. choice of employment.

MEMORIAL - Should JWs be commemorating the memorial of Christ's death?
by deegee in1corinthians 11:25-26:“in the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “this cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” for whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the lord’s death until he comes.” (emphasis mine).
the jws teach that jesus christ returned in 1914 when his kingdom officially took power and he began active rulership toward all the world.
so the jws should have ceased commemorating the memorial of christ’s death since according to their theology, jesus returned in 1914.. http://mmoutreachinc.com/jehovahs_witnesses/1914.html.

I'm sure Jesus will tell them when to stop.

Witnesses are victims of Group Think. It is pretty fascinating to read about Group Think from a psychological perspective. It makes it easy to see why people have a hard time leaving. When it comes to Witnesses, it is even worse because it goes week beyond their belief system and controls their daily life choices.
According to this website, http://www.psysr.org/about/pubs_resources/groupthink%20overview.htm, here are the symptoms of people trapped in Group Think:
- 1. Illusion of invulnerability –Creates excessive optimism that encourages taking extreme risks.
- 2. Collective rationalization – Members discount warnings and do not reconsider their assumptions.
- 3. Belief in inherent morality – Members believe in the rightness of their cause and therefore ignore the ethical or moral consequences of their decisions.
- 4. Stereotyped views of out-groups – Negative views of “enemy” make effective responses to conflict seem unnecessary.
- 5. Direct pressure on dissenters – Members are under pressure not to express arguments against any of the group’s views.
- 6. Self-censorship – Doubts and deviations from the perceived group consensus are not expressed.
- Illusion of unanimity – The majority view and judgments are assumed to be unanimous.
- 7. Self-appointed ‘mindguards’ – Members protect the group and the leader from information that is problematic or contradictory to the group’s cohesiveness, view, and/or decisions.
