Coming to realize that the local corruption was just a manifestation of the organization- wide corruption and that it's source was the GB. -

Schoolyard bully mentality
by FusionTheism ini'm not naming names, but i just want to encourage people on here or on reddit or twitter, and tell you that you do not have to tolerate people who act like schoolyard bullies in the way they speak to you online.
i think anonymity is a big part of it.
they feel like there is zero accountability so they can be a bully all they want.. i recommend just ignoring or blocking anyone who is verbally abusive or treats you like schoolyard bullies treated you.. life is way too short to spend any time dealing with those kinds of people..

I couldn't help but respond to this statement:
FusionTheism a day ago
Truthseeker,
A bully is a bully. Doesn't matter where they are.
Why would anyone want to interact with a bully?
As so many of us here know firsthand, THERE ARE PLENTY OF BULLIES WHO LOVE TO INTERACT WITH OTHER BULLIES. THEY'RE RAMPANT AMONG BODIES OF ELDERS IN JW CONGREGATIONS. Not that every BOE is this way, but my years of experience "in" revealed that many not only LOVED interacting with other overseer-bullies, but basically lived for it, thrived in it, both in local BOEs and at Bethels. They "want" this. They are often in competition for bullying with their fellow elder-bullies. Sometimes it's openly crass. Other times it's subtle and crafty.
Now as to "why," well that's another essay.

Thanks for this reference, TJB. I'll have to spend some time looking it over, and thanks, Gilgamesh, for the background and info. Your experience takes me back, and your site looks insightful.

Another Elevated Group of J.W.'s Now?
by The Searcher inwhy are only pioneers allowed to do "metropolitan witnessing"?
why do they need "special training" to stand like a zombie for hours, speaking only to their fellow elite?.
even a pioneer's mother couldn't answer me!.

Perhaps the cart witnessing thing has, as one motive, rewarding those who pioneer by giving them 'easy hours' to make their quota??? It's sort of like 'doorstep Bible studies', child baptism, etc., done to pad the stats??
We all remember that 'hierarchy of worthiness' that exists in the Witness world, with just being a normal publisher (shamefully) at the bottom. This 'special service' of 'Metropolitan Witnessing', like those who rate getting invited to the Annual Business Meeting, Gilead graduations, etc., will add one more rung to their already crowded hierarchic ladder. It makes the ones chosen feel even more special as well. Then it will be viewed a 'new light' and one more step in Jehovah's earthly chariot being on the move. Looking at it from an in-house perspective, it's a win-win development.

NH Knorr and his marriage
by moggy lover ini have heard anecdotal evidence about the marriage of nh knorr to audrey monk [i think that was her name] and how it had never been consummated, in other words that it was a sham.
but does anyone know the facts about how this marriage ended?
did knorr engineer a divorce at some time, and if so, on what grounds?

You may be thinking of C. T. Russell. He stated right in the WT that he and Maria never consummated their marriage—insightful now given all their marital difficulties. I read the WT statement years ago myself, but don't have the ref. any more. Surely someone here does. Penton, I think, made a deal about this in one of his books.
Given how much Knorr changed after marriage, I doubt that he followed Chuck's lead on this one.

They lie about everything, why don’t they lie about annual publisher growth?
by John Aquila injwfacts show that publisher growth was 15% pre- 1975 and has decline to about 2%.
what prevents them from fudging the annual growth and keeping it at something more positive like 10%?.
"a great crowd that no man is able to number".

Don't you think that the bizarre "door step Bible study" and the push for child baptism are also indications of how desperate the are to inflate the statistics? -

Lemonparty,
Well, maybe not but nowwhat? may be onto something. We all remember how nutty/stupid some of the R&F, as well as some elders, are. I can certainly picture some of those types shortsightedly threatening baptized youngsters, who will soon become a numerous force, with judicial action as an "immediate" way to control their childish behavior (like parents who threaten to spank kids without ever doing so). That will eventually open up a whole new can of worms. Oh, the decisions the GB makes that have not been thought out!
