Splane is out of uniform! Even the R&F other sheep brother (assumed, of course) next to him is more "theocratic" with his tie on. Faithfully theocratic tight pants Tony has kept his tie on when washing dishes. Shouldn't someone speak to David Splane about his bad example?

Thanks for sharing this. It's good to keep abreast of how far the madness has gone, how cheap they have become.

Britain Branch to Cease Printing Sooner Than Expected
by The Searcher ini've received the following news from a reliable and trusted source: .
the demise of printing literature in the u.k. is being brought forward by one year - to march 2018. graphic design and printing support will go too.
large numbers of "disposable" bethelites will now have to make their own way in the world, when their "mother" abandons them.

Thanks, SBF, for your insightful input. One point on the ending of your first large post: Bethels are for more than just a GB HQ. They house an increasing number of administrative activities like schools, service departments, and legal offices. I'm not sure if this is what you mean by "exercise authority."

darkspilver,
AND still be in a good London based-location (including on the London subway network, and numberous nearby congregations.
Doesn't it seem to be the point with the Patterson and Warwick moves that the GB wants all Bethel staff AWAY from good locations with their subway networks and nearby congregations? Isn't the German branch out in the boonies somewhere? The trend is clear...

Libby asks an interesting question. Does anybody know what moderately missionary Protestant religions like Baptists and Adventists did at the time before the Mexican law changed? What about the LDS-Mormons? Did they do what the WTS did? If they did, which group or groups came first in this policy?

Thanks, darkspilver for the link. Something I'd like to know is why the GB did the sudden change. Did the Mexican government change their policy? Did Ray Franz's exposé play any role?

Ritualistic behaviour within the JW faith
by stuckinarut2 ini was thinking about how the society criticises other faiths such as catholics because of their ritualistic procedures.. but couldn't it be said that witnesses have their own deeply ritualistic behaviours?.
think about the prayers said at meetings.
they all have to follow the same basic style and theme, and include the same basic content.. what about the ritualistic procedures of the memorial, and the passing of emblems - even to the servers and speaker (although they actually handle them more than everyone, they do their own special act of passing them to each other).
-

The official line, of course, is they don't have any ritualistic behaviors, but they certainly do. The Memorial is probably the first to come to mind (heavy on ritual), but the monthly turning in of field service is a far more common one, with elders tapping people on their shoulders and calling them on the phone, then tabulating all the stats and sending them off to the branch. Every month it's the same thing.

2017 Convention Video To Be Shown Regarding The 1975 Failure
by pale.emperor inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=go3arnnsfkk&feature=youtu.be.
no mention whatsoever that it was watchtower themselves that strongly hinted towards this date.
instead they blame those who "put their trust in a date, not jehovah".. let's recap... .

Thanks for the OP and the insightful comments. Yes, some things must be motivating the production and display of this vid.

CLAM Video - re Erich Frost (Apr 17-23 2017)
by Nicholaus Kopernicus ini normally don't bother going to the midweek jw meetings much.
however, upon reading in the april 2017 meeting workbook that there was to be a video about erich frost (former do for saxony & nazi prisoner in sachsenhausen concentration camp) i wanted to attend as i had read about this brother in history texts by detlef garbe and hans hesse.
i had also visited auschwitz several times and noted that the museum had a display / exhibition about jehovah's witnesses.
