Corney,
Thanks. So there's still more money to be made with their property there: $817,000 + $886,000, or $1.7 million more. Do you know why they're holding on to it?
i have compiled 32 real property transfer reports (“reports”) and 5 recording and endorsement cover pages (“cover pages”) that are ny city public records and available online on a836-acris.nyc.gov site.
37 pages, 38 properties, $2.2bn, one society... enjoy: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ryaj_4ihgs1uoyeptkbzdbmw9rd12dmf/view?usp=sharing.

let's play a game of believe it or not, shall we?
i'll relate a story, and you decide whether you believe it or not.
what would you think of an elder who told his daughter's fiance that he would kill him if he ever did anything to hurt his daughter?
I agree with the foregoing comments. Human failings + the example of a corrupt GB = corruption at the lower levels in all kinds of forms. When I was in, I witnessed all sorts of examples of elders intervening and showing nepotism to their relatives and friends, and causing unfair treatment of lesser ones for personal gain. It's at least as old as, well, the Hebrew prophets!

Thanks Corney! In this other recent post,
the sources seem to be in conflict, with one (the Patch) saying that the 30 Front St. property just sold was their last holding, and another (YIMBY) reporting that "The Witnesses still own two small properties at 80 and 86 Willow Street."
I looked over the pdf you put together and could find no record of the sale of the 80 and 86 Willow St. properties (just 76 and 103). Do you know what the story is here?
https://patch.com/new-york/heights-dumbo/jehovahs-witnesses-sell-last-piece-former-brooklyn-headquarters .
dumbo, brooklyn — the jehovah's witnesses have officially moved out of brooklyn — or at least their headquarters have.
the religious group announced that they sold the last remaining piece of their former dumbo headquarters last week.
I'm not sure about the details. The Sept. 2018 YIMBY article says, "The Witnesses still own two small properties at 80 and 86 Willow Street." The Patch article says the 30 Front St. property was their last. Anybody know the real story?

My anecdotal evidence is a bit different. For two years (2015-2017) I lived in one place where they did come around 2-3 times a year (surmised from tracts left in my door). I was always gone save once. That time was a lone, middle-aged sister. What struck me was the zero attempt to engage me in any meaningful conversation. She had a tablet, read no Bible passage, offered no literature, and just invited me to a meeting. Given that she was alone, I figured she was a pioneer who was getting her hours in. After that I moved and lived in another location for one year. It was a secure building, so they did not come by. However, the neighborhood was mainly accessible single-family homes and one time I had to park on the street about a block away. When I went to fetch my vehicle, I found a group of 5, 2 bros and 3 sisters, going D2D. We chatted a bit so I could find out about local downsizing. Sure enough their KH was going up for sale, and according to one sister, gullible enough to buy the party line, the money from the sale was for "KH building in foreign lands." Anyway, it's just my experience and I realize that is limited and the situation may be different elsewhere, but in two places where I've lived for the past 3 years, it's both carts and D2D.
If the carts were planned by the Muppets, err, I mean the GB (thank you, Orphan Crow!) for making it easier to pioneer, it's a remarkable case of them being proactive instead of reactive.
i found this meme on reddit and it is just too good not to share.. *sorry...can't remember the name of the reddit poster who posted this.... .
THIS is funny!

The comments here are good—the OP has even brought SBF out of the woodwork!
Just a thought: since the pioneer numbers are up, do you think the cart work was designed to do just that, make it easier to get in the required number of hours by sitting in a chair texting and reading instead of doing the real preaching and teaching work? If so, it would be a rare instance of the GB actually planning something out instead of just being reactive.

Thanks, Atlantis, for the early leak of Spain's info.
Of course, an increasing number of pioneers is expected if they can get huge portions of their FS time sitting at carts while texting and reading instead of actually preaching to the people.
But what is absent is more telling than what is present in the report. They do not discuss the number of congregations or KHs, do they? When discussing the limited number of figures that they choose to highlight, few comparisons are made with previous years (like baptisms, Memorial attendance, "Bible studies"). The implied average size of a cong now seems to be just 70, instead of the 100 or so that it used to be when we were in.
These highly selective statistics are their latest spin. It will be interesting to look at the full report and document both the continuing negative trend we've seen in previous years in most Western lands and what countries have joined those places in going into decreases. Wouldn't it be telling if they began listing things like "average age" of Witnesses, lawsuits filed, lawsuits settled, legal expenses and payouts for child abuse? Fat chance of that!
