No Religion is growing
by Giordano in(cnn)for the first time "no religion" has topped a survey of americans' religious identity, according to a new analysis by a political scientist.
the non-religious edged out catholics and evangelicals in the long-running general social survey.. https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/13/us/no-religion-largest-group-first-time-usa-trnd/index.html.
ryan burge, a political scientist at eastern illinois university and a baptist pastor, found that 23.1% of americans now claim no religion.. .

No fun debating "imperfect" JWs
by Tantalon inwell that was no fun at all, just got a visit to invite me to the last supper memorial.
haven't had a call for a long long time.
i tried to engage them about following bible not watchtower, they just kept changing the subject as they have always done but this time every challenge was met with "we are not perfect, the slave is not perfect" and "we don't want to have a debate".

They love to say that about the org and/or the GB being imperfect. But when you ask for some specific modern-day examples of such imperfections they clam up. Press the issue and they run off.
How different the Bible is where numerous leaders' specific imperfections are highlighted: Moses, David, Solomon, Peter, James and John, Paul. Must be how close the org is to the Bible, eh?

mikeflood,
Your idea may be the GB's latest thinking. The turning of the wild beast (governments) on Babylon the Great (false religion) is taking place now over the child sexual abuse issue. Then when the governments finally turn their full attention on moving against the org (maybe by arresting the GB?), Jehovah, Jesus, and the angels will intervene and save them. It might help explain their "bunker video" and similar depictions in other videos and artwork. Who knows how these guys think, especially when it comes to interpreting prophecy in advance? But if one looks at the batting average they have doing that in the past, they wouldn't even make the minor leagues.
Their statements in the publications about prophecy best being understood after it has been fulfilled, clearly out of harmony with their trying to do the opposite, namely, trying to figure it out in advance, has never struck them as grossly contradictory. They do such conflicting things pretty regularly.
As for Benedict's strange article, some experts are saying that it's a quiet move by the retired pope against Pope Francis. Who knows? These religious leaders, the GB or the RC hierarchy, have never been big on transparency, and there has been long history of intrigue in both camps.
Thanks TexWiller, for the post.

The time periods of Daniel
by Leolaia inone of the most perplexing puzzles of daniel is the differing way the author referred to the length of time the rebuilt temple would be defiled during the persecution of antiochus epiphanes iv (175-163 bc).
historically, the period is known with some precision; the heathen altar (the "abomination of desolation" of daniel and 1 maccabees) was installed on 15 chislev 167 bc and the temple was rededicated on 25 chislev 164 bc -- a period of almost exactly 3 years (1 maccabees 1:57, 4:52).
the desolation of jerusalem however began some several months prior to this (cf.

Wow, resurrecting one of Leoaia's old posts. A blast from the past of the good old days at JWD/JWN. Thx, smiddy!

Atlantis and Solzhenitsyn,
Thanks for the additional links. They really are trying to hide under the wire in some of these sites. More indications of their financial woes from all the lawsuits to be paid. How afraid of truth they are! Years and years of deception, etc. catching up with them in the courts, so they have to stoop to this to generate more funds for their secret pay outs. What a sad situation.

Anthony Morris- Military records are now available under FOIA
by Bleep Bloop inif you've wondered what tony morris' original last name was, or if he really served in the military, i put up a youtube video today summarizing many of these details.
my goal is not to doxx him or his family, but to put some meat on the bones of his life story article, using available public records.. thanks to the community here that gave me the impetus to dig into this.
and i can definitively say that, contrary to popular opinion, his last name was not esposito haha.

Welcome, BB, to JWD. That's quite a first post.
First, thanks for your research and work—that was no small task!
A few thoughts and observations:
1. Could you put together a condensed version? You would get more people watching it if it were 30-35 minutes rather than nearly 1 hour and 19 minutes.
2. Why did you choose AM II/III and not some other GB member? Is it because more public records are available for him than the others?
3. Any plans to do this with other GB members?
4. Some thoughts on AM's military/Viet Nam service. At that time an enlistment was 4 years of active duty whereas the draft was 2 years. Most draftees went into the army rather than the other services (but admittedly in practice that was somewhat arbitrary). I know one veteran who came back from SE Asia on a huge Medivac flight, a C-140 flying hospital, with men being operated on during the flight over the Pacific, some even dying on board. He said that about half the patients on board were diseased rather than being injured in battle. That's how common getting sick over there was. Some had come down with the very diseases they had been vaccinated against before leaving the USA. Others had diseases that were never fully diagnosed. AM worked in a hospital and was exposed to a large variety of sick patents. Even today in a hospital in far healthier conditions than one in a tropical jungle, nurses, orderlies, and techs often become ill from treating patients, and patients come down with diseases from fellow patients. So I think it's unwise to conjecture why AM became ill.
On a related but really different point, if AM had not wound up sick, we might be able to conclude that he was drafted rather than having enlisted, given his 2 years of active service (but he could have been medically discharged as an enlistee). However, if his being an elistee were the case, we might expect a disability from the VA, perhaps a partial one, common during Viet Nam and still practiced today. Furthermore, the US military is not eager to discharge someone who has two years left on their commitment. After all, they have invested thousands of dollars in that one's training. In sum then, it looks more like AM was a draftee than an enlistee, IMO.
Thanks again for your work.
