Slang or Terms Only Used by Bethelities
by new boy inthere are many terms used at bethel that might sound foreign to normal people.
there are many words or terms used at bethel that are unique only to their organization.
here are just a few of them.. “a jack” this is someone who is a slacker or just lazy.. “a pot licker” this term has been used for many years but its connotation is unclear.

Born again or born from above
by Steel inlast year i was at the memorial and the speaker was saying something about how the phrase born again was actually a mistake and it should say born from above.
jesus was actually referring to those with a heavenly hope.
last night i was flipping the channels and there is a religious program talking about being born again.

John's gospel is known for its regular intentional ambiguity. This is a classic example. It's apparent at 4:13-15, 7:33-36, 11:11-12. Note the disciples' reaction at 16:29, "“Finally, you are speaking plainly,” indicating that he had not done so before.

$5.5 Million to be transferred to World Wide Work from Assembly Hall fund
by Sour Grapes ina letter was read tonight in our kingdom hall that the money that the circuits in the indianapolis area had in savings to build a new assembly hall will now be transferred to the www to build kingdom halls in lands where they are needed and a new assembly hall for us will not be built.. we had a beautiful assembly hall near downtown indy that was paid for.
it was sold a couple of years ago.
we were promised a new assembly hall to be built in southern ohio near the indiana border but they can kiss that goodbye now.

Thanks, St George of England. Then it looks like what I said has already happened: they have applied their concept of reduction of KHs to AHs. All we are now seeing is the aftermath, the selling off of excess buildings.
sir82: point well taken. So they have not reduced the number of assemblies since that would cut into their money making. But they have streamlined the process. Reduce their duration to one day. Pack them in and get them out, all the while collecting as much cash as always during their short stay. Why have more AHs than is necessary to do this? Streamline, streamline, streamline...

Might this be indicative of something else in the works? A reduction in the number and/or length of circuit assemblies? If they are still having 2 two-day ones per year, they might be going to only one. If they are still two-day affairs, perhaps they are going to only one-day assemblies. Either way, it would open up time slots for the existing assembly halls to accommodate twice the number they used to. It's the same principle they've been using for KH consolidation—why not do the same with AHs?
Then the money grab would be in harmony with everything else they normally do. They are certainly not going to give it back!

SBF,
How about the idea that Fred Franz realized the spiritual Israel thing—and probably many other things that CTR had wrong—and finally won over JFR to his view? I suspect this was a major overlooked factor in WTS history of the post-CTR period.

Sounds very Moslem, or else quite high on psychedelics.

SBF:
I wonder what happened in just five years to so radically alter his view.
He/they embraced spiritual Israel as the fulfillment of OT prophecies.
