So they're still turning in return visits, even in EU lands? What about the GDPR-inspired directive to longer write down the addresses of "interested persons"? Isn't that how a person becomes an RV?
As always, thanks Atlantis.

i run a japanese blog which exposes jw's hidden scandals.
child abuse issues, court cases which are never to be published on jw official website.
it is a very serious blog.
Thanks for the post and info. You will get a better response here and in general if you can provide an English translation (maybe in subtitles?) of your work. For example, what did you say in pic of Ted Jaracz? Right now, most us can only wonder and glean a few points from your video.
last night they announced that this summers district convention will be held at an assembly hall.. this is the first time i've seen this happen.
there are a couple of congregations in the same hall here and they aren't going to the same ones.
they are having multiple dates.. the hall they are going to use can only hold 1500 people max.. just wondering if maybe they just couldnt get anything bigger this year or if the falling numbers are playing a part in this decision.
This is an informative thread—thanks. And thanks for the various thoughts by posters.
It sounds like this is another money move. 1. They don't have to shell out the money and resources to set up the DC in the traditional, bigger venues. 2. They can make more money by keeping it small and can continue to lie about expenses at the Ass. Hall, just like have done for years at circuit assemblies, making the faithful feel guilty and cough up more money that isn't really needed to run the assembly/convention.
They will likely keep the Intl. Convs. going for the high profile PR as the only big meetings. The DC/RC small turnouts the past two decades must look embarrassing to all. It may be easier to hide the small numbers of newly baptized in smaller venues too.
it has been well documented that jehovah`s witnesses have long claimed that christendom has hidden the name of god for centuries.. and that they alone have restored that name in the last century,.
making it known in all of the earth for a witness.. nothing could be further from the truth .. 1.justus martinus a 13th century spanish monk took the four hebrew letters of the tetragrammaton for gods name and added vowels to those consonants and came up with hebrew letters to english jhvh and the vowels he added e o a. which amounted to jehovah ,remember this was in the thirteenth century by a spanish catholic monk.. 2.this name persisted throughout the centuries to this day ,in many so of christendoms writings etc,etc.. 3.churches of christendoms religions throughout the world have the name jehovah in stone on them engraved since that 13th century .
4.in the 1970`s if i remember correctly their was an international convention held around the world in which the jw`s released a publication of the conventions and the churches of christendom to the delegates showing these churches many of which had the name jehovah engraved in stone on them.......centuries old churches.
SBF, your point is a good one. In the 1950s a Baptist missionary who liked the name Jehovah wrote a book that was a review of the RSV (The New Bible: Pro and Con). In that book it states that the name was coopted by JWs whom he calls outrageous or outlandish, or some such adjective. In effect, he felt the name Jehovah had been ruined by JWs taking it up.
Atlantis, loved that 1957 WT material! That must have been when Fred Franz had all that inside info on Adam's grandkids not mentioned in scripture that fills in the blanks so that he could interpret Gen 4:26 that way...

a jehovah's witness has agreed not to show his son religious cartoons and has been banned from taking the six-year-old to some church events because it could cause him "emotional damage".
the man is embroiled in a family court dispute with his estranged wife and has been barred by a court from taking the little boy to jehovah's witness assemblies, annual conventions and memorials.. district judge malcolm dodds also said that the father had agreed not to show his son "jehovah's witness cartoons", a decision he described as "wise".
No more Caleb and Sophia? I assume that's what the judge means...

victorian parliament has passed laws making it mandatory for priests to report child abuse, including when it is revealed to them during confession.. a bill introduced by the state labor government passed the upper house on tuesday after last week getting a green light from the legislative assembly, with opposition support.. "today we've made victoria a safer place for children.
the special treatment for churches has ended and child abuse must be reported," child protection minister luke donnellan said in a statement....
It will be interesting to see how the Catholic church responds. They view confession as sacrosanct.
there is a large kh in my area, a nice neighbourhood, that has been up for sale for well over a year now.
the old cong that used to go there travels miles to go to their reassigned hall.
i swing by the old one now and then to see if anyone has bought it.
Thanks for the thoughts. This KH is in a residential area and directly across from a large school. A church is a few buildings away, and businesses about half a block away. Perhaps the zoning is more flexible than in other places? Perhaps the org is asking too much for it? Maybe the org is thinking the school could use it for something and holding out for a better offer from them?
looking at the most recent wt the study article focuses on the jubilees.
the made a separate box in the article to highlight the math behind jubilees, and i'm wondering if they're trying to get people thinking and stir up the pot without actually making a false prophecy.
for instance: jubilees happened every 7 times 7 years.
It is not by accident that 50 years after the 1925 date that Rutherford put out was 1975, the date Fred Franz went crazy with. Both were trying to integrate the jubilee cycle into their other chronological-prophetic speculations. It's not surprising then if Splane starts going bonkers with this old idea—YAWN.

I've only looked at one briefly but noted 2 things. First, it looks like Herd is just reading from a monitor behind the camera, no Bible or notes. Second, I wonder if these are being sent out to further trim spending and waste so that even more money can be squeezed out of those keeping financial records.
Cheers!
hi bill:.
you wanted evidence concerning the "resolution" that was mentioned at the convention back in 2006.. ok, here you go:.
2006 "deliverance at hand" district convention resolution.. this "resolution" upgraded the words: "the world", to:human society that is alienated from god.you must be no part of the world....and....be no part of human society alienated from god.a typed copy of this resolution is found here:https://docdro.id/tlferwaplease note no.7 of the resolution.7.
"I felt that that resolution was completely pointless" -- evidence that you were beginning to wake up, paradise seeker!
Such "resolutions" are just a way to fire up the unthinking faithful. It's like declaring this or that "special," another tactic the org has used for decades.
Yawn ...
