Welcome!!!
Sit back and enjoy your stay.
i was raised in the jw cult from birth until i left when i was 18(i am now 34).
i hated it from the beginning, but because my mom was so strict, there was nothing i could do about it.
(my dad didn't belong to the jws but i didn't get much sympathy or support from him - he didn't want to "rock the boat".

jesus seemed to believe in the story of noah's flood.
i wonder if god really drowned millions of people like the bible says for simply eating and drinking and not taking any note?

and they kiss a lot better,
Sorry, I was the one that started those rumours about me....
i know that people here make comments about the religion having problems and growth not being anything other then children born into the faith and third world countries.
i even see them make comments about, "how much longer can this go on?
" yet honestly, do you really think the witness religion will end in our life time?
I've used the "expiration date" analogy before. It's just a matter of time. I think it will always be around like some of those groups you hardly ever hear about, like the Christadelphians or so.

i just had to share...tonight in my us constitution class, my teacher asked everyone their opinion of gay marriages.
seeing it is such a hot topic, there was a huge debate.
people answered anywhere from it being an abomination to the viewpoint that they are born that way, and who could possibly choose such a rough path without it being beyond the control of the person.
Well Sparkplug, that just opens up a whole other can of worms. Should an employer pay benefits for a workers roommate? Lots to debate.....

Here in California, 95% of the class would be for gay marriage and one redneck would be all, "god created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve." Everyone would turn to him and say, "SHUT UP!"

It's jewish mythology. Any event that happened in biblical times like the recent tsunami would have been interpreted as divine judgement. There probably was a flood of some sort that the tales of it eventually escalated to how we know it.
At the same time of Jesus, other cultures were talking about Zeus with his lightning bolts. I love the old greek/roman myths, but I don't believe that there really were hippogryphs flying around.
