  hi folks, i've been reading your comments in this forum for awhile now, and they certaintly have been enlighting, but i'm interested in your .

  ideas on who, why and how the organization started, and how did it maintain itself for all these years.

  what was the underlining intent of the people who started.

  I think Russell started it with good intentions. It was just that he was wrong. But it kept going. And sadly nobody has stopped the sham since the people at the top like the power and the money.

  John Denver v Jay Leno

  i 've heard snippets of this absurd urban myth about jay leno asking j denver to leave his show because he hated jw's.

  but why on earth on a prime time slot would j leno start asking j denver about jw's?

  and i don't think j leno is a particularly spiritual guy or wt supporter is he?

  I've heard the story of Johnny Carson doing that. I heard that it was because a lot of Carson's crew were witnesses and he could trust them.

  great guitarist....guitar solos...and performances

  i am collecting great perfomances.....rare ones of musicians that would not otherwise be together......

  i wold love your input.........and would share music with those interested.

  Thanks purps! Both of those are great ones. The guitar intro on And You And I is so simple but at the same time so elegant. Yes is one of those bands that I feel I'm in another world while listening to them.

  One of my favorites has always been Steve Howe of Yes. Back when I was playing guitar, his playing was always the hardest to copy but always so perfectly done. Jeff Beck's People Get Ready is also quite the masterpiece.

  What really made you exit the Jw's

  i know its a question that has been asked a thousand times, but what really made you exit the jws .. for instance, my wife and i, having found out about the u.n., 607bce, failed prophecies etc.

  gave all this information to my wifes brother, along with many so called friends.

  we came out but the brother and friends stayed in.. the only reasoning i can put on it, is that we made an effort to find out for ourselves what was the real truth, the others were told and given written evidence - but still didnt make a decision.

  I was going to kill myself from loneliness, boredom of life and the boredom of the repetition of the meetings. I went to every meeting from when I was 5 up til I was 26 and after that long with nothing ever happening, I had to get out. At the time I was thinking that it was the "truth" but I was conflicted in that it really wasn't for everyone. There are different types of people all being put into the same cookie cutter mold and I couldn't take it anymore.

  Do you still call it "the truth"?

  do you find youself still calling it "the truth" even though you are an ex-jw?

  for instance, in one posting i just read, the poster wrote "when i was in the truth..." .

  not a big deal, perhaps, but really not such a good thing either as it's a habitual holdover from the program of mental conditioning we were subject to.
