Demons

this isn't a joke and i don't post here often but i had a conversation with my grandma i found comical and thought i'd share.

my uncle lives far away and my grandma wants to go visit him but says she is afraid of the demons in his rental home.

she is afraid a demon might follow her home.

If you don't go see someone because you're afraid of bringing back a demon...you just might be a jw!

If every once in a while you throw away things you bought at yard sales because they might have demons....you just might be a jw!

If you don't buy a Ford Taurus because it might have a demon....you just might be a jw!

If you find yourself burning clothes and are amazed that a non-flammable material doesn't burn easy....you just might be a jw!

ive had to make statements like this too many times.

communities like this have had to endure tragedies like this too many times.

once again, communities [were harmed] because someone who wanted to inflict harm had no problem getting their hands on a gun.. lets be clear: at some point, we as a country will have to reckon with the fact that this type of mass violence does not happen in other advanced countries.

Why is banning guns the only thing that pro-gun people think that the left wants?

Did Joe Biden recommend people getting a shotgun for home protection?

This little shit was given a gun as a gift from his dad (or so I've heard on the news), is giving gifts to some crazy racist appropriate?

The right wing wants voters to present an I.D. to vote. Is it really such a problem to make sure the buyer of a gun is a responsible adult?

Last night's bible highlights: David was wrong to greive for his son!

last night's bible highlights was really eyebrow raising!

the brother pointed out at lenght about how david had wept when his son absalom was killed.

but that because absalom was killed while opposing jehovah that means that david was wrong and weak to greive for him.. it was applied to today by saying that if our children are df'd when they die then we should not grieve for them either!.

my response: it shows a clash of expectations.

i saw police officers who expected citizens to listen to and follow instructions.

was just listening to great guitar music from some of my favorites.

who are your all time favorites?

Some of those in that list above don't even have a guitar in that genre. Am I supposed to be finding my favorite guitarist out of the children's music, comedy, commercial, holiday, inspirational or vocal?

If this was a thread about what genre of music you like I could easily list over 50 from that list. And as much as I am for expanding your horizons, I've come to the realization that at my age on some things I don't care anymore. I have over 400 cds. I really don't need to buy more to listen to. I can't listen to all the ones I have.

it has been 2 and a half years since my departure from the religion.

i was told by my parents from the start that i would never speak to them until i returned to jehovah dog.

a few months later they told people they hoped i died before the end came, then all of this culminating in them telling my inactive / fading sister that they don't consider me a child anymore and they have given me up to satan.

The idea of always showing honor to parents really shows a logical flaw in the bible. To suppose that all parents are worthy of honor could have only been written by an overbearing parent.

17 year old son is blaming me for ruining his life from the Cult. He's complaining "I could have been a high school sports star!"

you know about my not-so-ugly divorce and how me and my wife found out the religion is false.

she still attends while my 17 year old has been raging on me about all the wasted time he suffered from by being in this religion.

he think's his life is ruined, very angry we did not learn this was a cult earlier(he was 14 when he stopped attending after reading the revelation book, he said "in all time and history, how could a trumpet blown in revelation have anything to do with a jw bible student convention statement"?.

Oh how I wish I could go back in time to when I was 17. I would give anything to go back and tell my mom and step-dad they were in a cult, tell them why, drop mic and walk out. Then go to college and do what I really wanted to do with my life.

But as it was I didn't bother to finish high school because, why bother? The end of the world is coming at any second! (I would have graduated in 1984).

All I can say is have him figure out what he wants to do and go do it. At 17 he is the only one stopping himself.
