  and i am in my office by myself.

  the person that we hired just faxed over a letter letting us know that she will no longer be working for us (and can we please mail her her paycheck?).

  it is a slow day, and i have nothing to do and none to talk to.

  my name is todd and i am new to this forum.

  i just wanted to say hello and introduce myself.

  i am from salt lake city, utah and i have been free from the wtbts since 1998. i wanted to also see if there are any ex-jw's in utah that might want to chat.

  Hello, I was in Orem from 1975-1985. It was a miserable time as I was 8 when we moved there. I was usually the only witness at school and it was always great being told that I had my own "special territory" for preaching to mormons.

  sorry everyone but i need to rant.

  about a week and a half ago we hired someone to work at my office.

  up to that point only my boss and i worked here, however we realized that there was a lot of work that had to be done and we needed help.

  i tried it, could not swallow all the lies and misinformation they had.

  i am sorry, but even if you deny the whole witness faith, there is still parts to christianity that they pointed out that you can not just ignore and act like it is okay to join another faith that is christian.

  are you going to become catholic when your know their history?

  I used to wonder the same thing myself as I would never join another religion. I find much more enjoyment now in reading psychology and philosophy books then I could ever get by going back to any sort of church.

  Isolated & disconnected once outside

  is this a common issue for exjws?

  or do you find it easy to just get on with it?

  having lost all the jw friends, you find that you can't bring yourself to let others get too close, even pushing them away (old habbit dying hard).

  I don't think that there is a single thing on this page listed so far that I don't hate. The only exception is that I don't listen to the radio anymore and haven't heard Hollaback Girl.

  i thought i would share an experience from the congregation i was assosiated with in utah.

  about 17 years ago i caught my 15-year-old stepson molesting my 3-year-old daughter.

  of course, the first action taken was to call the elders.

  I have seen/heard of things like these. I sometimes wonder if stuff like this happens because of how isolated witness kids are. Limited association, no dating until one is ready to be married, even then all the chaperones rules and regulations. But then again it is Jehovahs perfect organization, right? everyone everywhere should all easily fit into the proper mold.

  Just my thoughts on the subject. In no way should anything like this be excused, but witness kids aren't brought up in a normal healthy social environment at all.
