Another great commentary. You're having too much fun. I just studied the article in my wifes WT on the memorial. It will be studied in March. I'll chime in with you on that one as it is blatantly deceptive and lacking foundation for statements made.

They have started to shun my JW wife!
by jwfacts inmy poor wife has been quite stressed knowing what to do with her life.
she has never been intellectually interested enough to study whether the wts is the truth, just went because it seemed the best way of life and her family and friends are in it.
when i stopped going she did not know what to do wanting to keep both me and the congregation happy, and becamed fairly irregular at meetings and field service.

Jwfacts,
I have been wondering if my efforts to avoid being DFed of DAed actually help keep my wife in. There has been a change in our social life since I left but she gets enough association to keep going. If I am booted I'm sure there would be less since many gatherings include the entire family.
On the other hand I have been thinking if I were to attend meetings once in a while it might give me more freeness of speech with her. Right now she is cautious and limits me to a couple of sentences before the red flags go up.
Freeness of speech would mean I could discuss doctrine with her but I'm not so sure that is what would bring her out.
A lack of love seems more likely to shake her and that may be more apparent if I'm given the boot.
Please keep posting your experience, I'm interested in its outcome.

The victim thought Jehovah's Witnesses cannot have any blood products. Probably could have lived with some allowed fractions. If they are available in Nigeria.

Personally I think lawsuits for damages from the Blood Doctrine would be the best way to start. Actually after reading about Kerry's mom's death, the reason she wrote the essay, I think Kerry should be the first to test her premise.
I think in our society if there is a chance at success, someone will sue. The WTS is a lawyers dream defendant due to their deep pockets. All they need is a perfect plaintiff.
BTW just saw a program last night about a woman suing her church because her minister told her to have sex with him and others for many years. She feels that since she was taught he was always right and not to question him that she was misled in a fraudulent way and is due compensation. The suit is going forward. Times are changing and religions are no longer safe from litigation.
You may get your 1975 suit someday afterall.

If you believe God was instrumental in forming the canon then you believe he was working with the ones who compiled it, the Catholic Church.

Why didn't Jesus Outdo Greek Scientist?
by Spectrum inif i wanted to prove to a bunch of tribal ignoramuses that i'm the big boss i'd show them a few scientific tricks that would have dazzled them.
like electricity, how the brain really works, higher mathematics, tell them how a star is formed since he created them, set up a fusion reactor for eternal energy source.
he walked on water, see that might impress the odd shepherd or two back then but it leaves nothing for us to go on today as we can just reject it out of hand as a myth.

Good Article Tetra,
The WTs position that the Bible must be from God because of the advanced wisdom in it would more so support other religions and cultures as being from God due to the advanced concepts they had.

What do you think of yourself now?
by MsMcDucket inas a dub, we had to suppress all of our inner feelings, desires, self-image, and what not.
now, that you're out, what was the first thing that you did (that you would of gotten a *smack down* for as a witness)?.
you don't have to tell all of the details.

I'm in school now working on my degree. Read alot more interesting topics than WTS literature. Still on good behaviour though except the occasional cigar.

Dealing with difficult relatives.
by ithinkisee ini found this interesting article at a website i visit quite often:.
http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2005/08/dealing-with-difficult-relatives/.
he makes some great points on dealing with difficult relatives, and many of his points (not all though) can be applied to jw relatives with whom you need to "lay down the law".. i highlighted my favorite points (yellow) and added some comments in red:.

Its hard to live without the weapon of guilt. I've become a pretty good shot in my life. Of course I always feel guilty later myself.

Conspiracy guys are cool. They are so full of it but have just enough truth in what they say to make it interesting.
Alex Jones, infowars.com is one of them.
