  you and other are trying to take two different prophecies and say there is new light.

  the 6-1-2003 wt is not talking about trevelation prophecy, but is talking about ezekiel and daniel prophecy.

  The concept of "new light" is not a Biblical one. The WT borrowed the term from other groups, such as the Adventists. The only scripture you will ever see the WT use to support this concept is Proverbs 4:18. Read it in context, and you will see that it has nothing to do with changing teachings. It has to do with a father teaching his son how to live his life. Righteousness=enlightenment, Wickedness=darkness.

  The WT has used this misapplied scripture to excuse every false prophecy and dumb idea they have ever come up with. Whatever change they make, JWs will just say, "Oh, we have new light now", and that is supposed to take away any accountability for error. The excuse doesn't hold water, because it's built on a false premise.

  Truth doesn't change. If it has to change, it wasn't true to begin with, and if it wasn't true to begin with, it didn't come from God.

  Unfortunately, most loyal dubs have never heard of Barbara Anderson or Silentlambs, or the U.N. cover-up, or most of what's happening in their own organization. If they get wind of any of it, they just chalk it up to persecution and the work of evil apostates.

  my family grew up in that hall and we moved in 1985. i have heard bits and pieces through the years on some of them, but would love to see who is out here..

  I was there from 1980 to 2001. Kissimmee cong. Then Winter Garden, then finally Rosemont. I left the borg in the early 90s though. I am no longer in Florida. Richter family was well known, also the Wrights. I think David Corcum was in Union Park...originally from MA. Singletons, Flemings, Axel Petersen...Swinsons...

  I believe it...my parents waited 10 years to marry, until finally someone at headquarters married and it was suddenly 0k. Then it was "don't have children". Thankfully, they didn't listen to that one, or I wouldn't be here. They always regretted those 10 years, and said if they had it to do over again, they would have married in spite of the organization. Just another example of "new light" in action.

  How far should laws go?

  as jehovahs witnesses we were under the burden of strict laws.laws that were supposedly designed to help us lead better and happier lives.we didn't always enjoy following them but may have felt they were nessesary for humans to live by.. now we are glad to be out of the burden of such manmade laws and like to lead free lives, but we in fact still under laws, that of our governments.how far should these laws go in directing how we lead our lives , and do too many laws just become a burden to live by.in britian we are often amazed at the laws passed by the european union that effect our lives in britian even governing that you must sell in killos not pounds for example and bananas must be striaght not bent.. the un is now saying that britian must create a new law banning the smacking of children, while at the moment this is up to the parent.but will an increase in such laws create a society were we have lost all freedoms will it gradualy end up like living in the "society"?should what is moral be left up to individuals or must it be inforced by law?are there other ways of creating a civil society were people don't want to do wrong rather than just not being allowed to do it?will our lives soon be completely governed by law?

  There are already so many laws on the books, that if you started reading them the day your were born, (which of course, you can't) and read every moment of your life 'till the day you die, you still couldn't read them all, let alone know them all. More are being passed every day. We are unaware of nearly all of them, except the ones that directly effect us. It's scary, really. I grew up at a time when we had to read Orwell's "1984" as part of English Lit. They don't require that any more. People don't seem concerned with the direction things are going...a little more control each day. No one even notices. Big government is already here.

  What is really strange to me, is that the people who were horrified at the "1984" scenario back then, are the same ones who are working to make it happen now.

  <P>False prophecies that promted so many to sell all they owned to pioneer for the "short time remaining, </P>

  <P>The shunning issue that has broken so many families</P>
  <P>The pedophile issue that they have tried to cover up</P>
  <P>That's just a few issues that have caused untold damage. Jst ; how much damage can an organization do and get away with it??? ; That organization needs to be investigated by the authorities with a fine tooth comb. Their books need to be audited...the books of every single corporation they hide behind. The shareholders' names need to be made public for the jws to see who is in control. </P>

  If the watchtower was truly going by scriptural precident, any and all hearings would be out in the open for all to hear, not behind closed doors. Families would hear for themselves if there was an accused pedophile among them, and they would hear all sides. There would be no secret files.

  If a child of mine was molested, I would move heaven and earth to get all the facts. I would warn every family the perpetrator was in contact with. I would go to the authorities. I would get my child counseling. I would not keep my mouth shut to protect the image of an organization. That's now....after I have removed the watchtower berka (sp?) It is what ordinary people do in our world. It's not what witnesses are taught to do. It is, however what they should do.

  If a pedophile returned to the cong. after serving his/her time, every effort should be made to make sure children are safe. His feelings don't count here. Frank, honest language should be used, not watchtower double speak. Anything less won't do. Very few if any child molesters stop molesting on their own. Even with treatment, there is no cure for this sick behavior. Children will always be at risk around such an individual. The damage is never fixed. The victims will always live with that. Whatever payment was made to society, it can never make up for that. Why should the society have a problem with announcing this from the platform? We hear the names of pedophiles on the news all the time. The society doesn't have a problem disfellowshipping people who try to protect children who have been damaged by watchtower policy. Their priorities are twisted.

  You said that you're glad you don't have to run the watchtower organization. That's just it. If it truly was God's organization, then God would be running it...not arrogant men. The watchtower doesn't let God run it. They're too busy with their huge team of lawyers, and numerous corporations. It is about as far from Christianity as one can go. How many lawyers did Jesus have? How many corporations or printing presses did he control? Just what do you think Jesus would do?

  Hi Bill,

  If their statement was true, then there would have been no need for a march. The arrogance of the watchtower is beyond words. I saw it for myself at the march. They have no remorse or conscience. They wouldn't even speak to the victims. They live on a different planet, where they are accountable to no one. Evil doesn't even begin to describe their actions.

  'Prepare for Banning' A HOAX! READ INSIDE

  my friend called me last night and said that his mother heard a letter read on monday night at her congregation meeting that said that the rank and file should be prepared to be banned, to go underground, and persecution is coming soon, that halls would be taken, and such.

  that these things are definitely coming soon.

  could this be the spin that the wt is heading towards.....instead of facing the hard issues, make the issues the boogeyman and shut down the halls, giving the elders ultimate power?
