i am at a point were i want to present them a book on cults.
i have nothing to lose as they have dis-owned me for years and have only recently came back into my life as a result of my moms illness ( alzeimers ) these people are driving me nuts!!!
It is disgraceful the way they deliberately try to keep you on an emotional rollercoaster. If you decide to give them a book on cults...can I go with you? They knew my dad.....and probably don't know I'm out. I wonder what the reaction would be...trust me, I've held my own against some pretty arrogant elders. Might be fun...turn the tables a bit...

ughhhhh, i left "the truth" when i was 16 i had my daughter when i was 18. while is was finishing college my mother watched my daughter for me , so they are very very close.
well whenever my daughter goes to visit usualy about a week at a time my mother takes her to the hall .
she fills her head with the doctrine and tells her that ill say bad things about it and scares her into not telling me about it .
Limit your daughter's visits to non meeting days/nights. Call your mother's bluff. Tell her that if the attempted indoctrination continues in any form, you will be the one to cut ties. It's hard to do, but she is putting herself in the driver's seat. You have to evict her from that position. As long as she thinks she is in control, and you allow it...it will continue. As the parent, you have the right and responsibility to set boundaries.

Why do we need to be labeled? As far as I'm concerned, after I left and worked through all the stuff I had to work through,, I became...HAPPY!!!

it did not last long as i was eaten up by the wt and became a regular pioneer with an irregular notion and a pile of scruffy s8's.. .
i well remember one issue in which i took great exception to a comment made by duke ellington which seemed to me to be far to general and subjective to make much sense.

they had a elder and his wife (family friends who i was previously very very close to) staying with them for the convention and discussed it with them.
the elders wife is a very strong personality and super-spiritual but when she heard of the scandal back in spring she had a huge problem with it.
The article they cite in the 1995 Watchtower was there because it was part of the requirement as an NGO to promote and support the charter of the UN in their publicatons.

Ok...They taught that the UN is the wild beast of Revelation. What are they doing having any contact whatsoever with the beast...even if it was only to use the Library....in the first place? Would they use the Catholic Church's library....and join to use it if they had to? What kind of convoluted thinking is that? They condemn churches for having any dealings with the UN....calling them harlots. So let me get this straight... It's ok to get into bed with the Wild beast of Revelation...if it gets you access to their library. Sheesh!

Wow... I was only thinking of negative letters.
I actually did write a letter that they published in a WT in the mid 60s. It was along the lines of how grateful I was to be a JW... I was about 15 or so then. I could barf just thinking about it! How different things are now... I could look up the issue...but then, I'd have to go up in the attic...and it's about 150 degrees up there.
