I don't know about this group...but years ago, there were some musicians who at least studdied with jws. My x met a number of them. For example, "Fang" from Paul Revere & the Raiders became a JW. He started his own group " The Great Crowd". I don't think they ever went anywhere... although, they did play at the Disneyland once... we went to hear them...
Jack Daugherty, who discovered Karen Carpenter was in our congregation. According to my x she studied with the dubs. Jack had a Jazz album of his own.
Coffee don't mean to hijack the thread...
did any of you stuggle for have good conversations with the friends, before and after meetings?
i know i did.. by meaningful conversations, i mean in-depth discussions about events, news, beliefs.
it seems that jw's .
Everyone is on guard... you have to be so careful about the words you choose...because you are always being judged. You can't be yourself. I noticed that few jws have close friends...someone you could really open up to and share your deepest thoughts. No one seems to let anyone that close.... the friendships are pretty superficial. After all, how can you share your feelings with someone who might report you to the elders?

Hi... you might want to get that fixed.... The governing body has only been in existance since the early 1971...so he couldn't have been a member for 44 years. Someone is confused....

ah, where to start.
i have been married for 30 years and was a jw with my husband for 20+.
we raised 6 children in the borg; none of which, thankfully, stuck with it.
Welcome! Lots of us have been where you are now. Do you have any interests you can call your own outside of the family? Working at something you love can help....
It's a terrible delema...I'm sure he thinks you're just going through a phase...and you'll grow out of it.... problem is that once you know the truth about the truth no thinking person could go back...
It's great that your kids are out with you. The wt can't take them from you.

i know things would have been different if i had not been raised as a dub.
since i left the borg, i've been making up for lost time, but still did not fully become what i wanted to be.
i wanted to be an artist... i do some artwork, but it's only a small part of what i do for a living.. how about you?
Hi Chrissy,
No, my avatar is actually a drawing by my son. I'm hoping he will persue his talent....and realize his dreams. He's has fewer limitations than I had at his age.
It's good to see that others are persuing their dreams.. Talent is a terrible thing to waste.

i am a reasonable cook when i can be bothered (as paulj will hopefully confirm) but often resort to quick and easy methods, packet mixes, tins etc.. whereas my parner is a brilliant cook!!
leave him in the kitchen for a little while and he produces something from scratch that is delicious.
so today i decided to extend my culinary skills!
When I was about 8 years old, I was visiting my grandmother who turned me loose in the kitchen to create to my hearts' desire.... I chose to make a cake. I had seen my mother do this tons of times, and thought I'd give it a try. All went fairly well... I used a mix, so I couldn't mess that up too badly... Then came the frosting.... again, I had seen my mother make frosting lots of times. She didn't use a recipe. So, i used flour instead of confectioners sugar... I thought it was what she used....and argued with my grandmother who tried to correct me (but let me do it my way anyway) My mother came to pick me up later that day, and I proudly presented my cake in all its' awful glory. I cut her a big piece...and she ate it....bless her...but suggested that I use confectioners sugar the next time. I finally tasted my masterpiece at that point, and !!!
