that's pretty much where it all began with me and the "truth" , would love to chat regarding people, places and things from times past.
i walked out back in 1997 (i was not living on the island at that time), and would love to hear from only those that have also left the jw"s from the island.

i've got a question.... vulgar comes from lating vulgate (sp?
) which means common, correct?
vulgar words like sh*t, fu*k, co*k, c*nt, ect are just terms used by the common people.

My parents went together for 10 years because the society said faithful witnesses would wait 'till after armageddon to marry. Finally, Knorr got married, and it was suddenly ok. So they married. My Mom loved kids, and wanted many, but because of the years they waited, I was all they were to have. (except many miscarriages, and a brother that lived only a day and a half.) They often lamented about the years they waited, that they could have been together, and the children they could have had. They are now dead.
Many of my generation listened to the organization and didn't have children. They are now too old to have them. I am happy that I didn't listen. ( I was pregnant in 1975 ) I I have 2 great children, and 2 grandchildren. I shudder to think that I could have missed out on having them had I listened to the "wisdom" of that cult.

people are the ones we work with, the ones we live next to, the ones we share this planet with.
I agree to a point. There comes a time though, when we each have to take responsibility for our own lives. I once defended the organization too. I was in it for many years. My conscience led me out of it, because I could no longer be party to their actions. I don't advocate being unkind to any of the sincere followers of the watchtower. There are many still trapped in it who I care about. Unfortunately, they don't think as kindly of me, as I think of them.

Remember the scripture "Get out of her my people, if you don't want to share in her sins" ?
How is it that the organization can use that scripture to condemn all of Christendom, and ALL of the individual members of Christendom?
You may recognize what is wrong in the Organization, but if you continue to follow them, you are as guilty as they are, by the very same standards by which they measure others. What kind words does the organization have for the Catholic Church, or any of its members? Do you expect xjws to measure you by a lesser standard than the one by which you judge others? What kind words does the organization have for xjws? The imperfection excuse won't work here. Are you willing to apply the same standard to Christendom? They are imperfect people too. Are you willing to let them off the hook too, because they are imperfect?
You may be a wonderful person, and it is not my intent to pick on you or hurt your feelings. But defending the indefensible won't cut it here.

okay everyone ... here are some highlights from this weekend's brci conference held in itasca, illinois, close to chicago o'hare airport.
it was two full days, from friday at 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and sat.
9:00 am to 9:00 pm.
Thanks for posting this, Amazing. I know I'm biased, ('cause I'm on the brci board) but I always have a great time at the conference. I agree with everything you said. Great job!

conference, i was interviewed by channel 7 for a news story they are doing on religeous recruiting since 9/11.
steve hassan was also interviewed, and a xjw from the greater boston area.
Before I left for the B.R.C.I. conference, I was interviewed by Channel 7 for a news story they are doing on religeous recruiting since 9/11. Steve Hassan was also interviewed, and a xjw from the greater Boston area. It went very well. I covered a lot of issues, and they filmed for almost an hour. It's only a news segment, so it will only last a few minutes, but this is the first time I have seen the news media touch jws here. It airs July 2 on the 11 O'clock news, and will be repeated on the evening news the following day. I think 7 is the Boston affiliate of NBC. Not positive though. I am disguised for the segment...in shadow, and they are changing my voice. I will be called Jane.

Oh.. and I thought that Jehovah would provide! What happened to faith?? I guess it comes in a very distant second to money. But the money is what it's about after all, isn't it?
So, let me get this straight. If the dubs don't give money, then Jehovah is powerless to spread the "good news". Hmmmm...
