  i haven't posted in ages... life has been really busy and happy... two of my pieces of art were chosen for the 2005 calendar for annabelle's collection.

  my months are november and december... december being chosen for the cover.

  i am really excited!

  Dansk, hang in there... I actually did these two peices about 5 years ago, and my contact with the publisher of the calendar was initially 2 years ago. Nothing happened until I was contacted this past summer. Just be patient! you'll get there!

  Outaservice, You can order the calendar from the website, or pm me. I get them for a little less than what's listed on the website...but not much... I think she plans to make individual prints available without the calendar printed on them. It looks like that part of the website is not available yet though. I have the originals, she just pays for the use of them.

  Thanks Jgnat, Tigerman and Mulan! I really am thrilled about it... Growing up as a dub, there were many in the congregation who viewed my artwork as just an attempt to call attention to myself. I was resented because of it...so it was something I just didn't discuss with my fellow dubs. Life is sooooooooo different now, and sooooo much better!

  did anyone see the recent questions from readers that cautions against about using gift registries for you wedding?

  no joke.

  sept 1, 2003.whether a couple who are getting married wish to use a gift registry is a matter for personal decision.

  Does anyone else remember when you weren't supposed to sign the card when you gave a gift? That was so that the person giving an inexpensive gift wouldn't feel bad. There were actually people who went around at showers and weddings removing the cards...just in case someone signed them. Got into some heavy duty discussions over that one. Coffee

  i'm a new member and have been reading some of your postings with great interest, and much laughter .

  in one posting there was mention of the wts article about the new view of 'that generation' which i missed (as i was dfd at the time and missed the crucial meeting - naughty!

  Researching JW family history - help!

  my grandfather and grandmother were married in 1910. my grandfather became involved with the church in 1911, but my grandmother refused.

  they had 4 children all forced to attend against their will until the time that my grandfather had no choice but to accept their refusal.. old family notes have my great grandparents also involved when the members were called bible students.. being unfamiliar with the practices i have a number of questions that i am hoping someone may be able to answer.. isn't it unusual to have one spouse following this faith while the other rebels?

  with my grandfather forcing his children to attend, does this usually mean they were baptized and became members?

  My grandparents were married in 1908, and became involved with the bible students in 1910. Where is your family from? It is possible that someone on this board may know of your family.
