updating.... Her doctor put her in the hospital today to do a battery of tests. She is upbeat, but very weak and confused. Her doctor was alarmed by her decline in the couple of weeks since he saw her last...
It's been a long day.

my 85 year old aunt, who has worked every day up until 2 weeks ago is very ill. she has been losing weight for about 6 months, (without trying) but for the past month it has really accelerated.
my cousin finally got her to go to the doctor , and there will be lots of tests to find the cause.
she had lung cancer 12 years ago and has had a clean bill of health ever since... until now.

an update.
The doctor still doesn't know what is wrong after blood tests and MRI. Back to the doctor on Monday.... Today she fell. She didn't have the strength to get up, so she fell asleep on the floor. She has not been able to keep any food down for the past few days... There is a daily decline at this point. She's a tough cookie though...still talks about going back to work.... but no one thinks that will happen. We all think the doctor will put her in the hospital when she sees him on Monday. She can't be left alone any more...not after the fall today....

The Mayor of Boston is Tom Menino. He has a speaking problem, and is called Mumbles Menino by many. Sometimes there are contests on the radio to see if people can figure out what he said. Sometimes it is hilarious. When I first moved back to Massachusetts after a 20 year absense, I found it amazing that the Mayor of Boston could sound like this....after all, here we are in the neighborhood of some of the top colleges in the country and the Mayor sounds like...well you'll see...

so i'm curious to get your opinions.
in your minds what is the worst part of the wtbs?
the abuse issue, money, false teachings/doctrines, control?
The policies that have cost human lives
The wasted years serving a publishing company while intending to serve God
The wasted human potential because of the policy on education
The devastation when discovering it is all a fraud.
The policies that destroy families
Not necessarily in that order

i would consider myself somewhat aggressive and impatient, swearing and gesturing when infuriated in a very fast red sports car.. i do keep to the speed limit or about 5 to 10 miles above.
i have never had a ticket issued in my 32 year driving and never been in an accident.. i've been pulled over twice and let go.
once for an expired tag, and once for a brake light out.. tell your driving history!.
I have to drive a lot for my job... usually 25-30 thousand miles per year. In the past 6 years I have had 1 ticket for speeding and I fought it. They reduced the fine, but the ticket stood.
I am somewhat agressive...have to be...I drive in Boston a lot. My bf says I drive like a man.

my fading brother just informed me of two jw suicides in his area within the last few weeks.. one was recently disfellowshipped.. the other was an active publisher, possibly a ministerial servant.
.
both left young children behind.. the cases appear to be unrelated.. of course suicide is nothing unique to jehovah's witnesses.. but most of us know that as a group they are no happier than any other segment of the population, quite possibly less so due to the burdens placed upon them and their paradisaic hopes that go perpetually unrealized.. .
I actually think that this repeated message that they are the happiest people on earth makes individual jws feel that there is something wrong with them if they are not happy... just one more thing to live up to... it's telling them that if they are living up to all they are supposed to do and pleasing Jehovah then of course they are happy. If not...something is wrong with them. So they try harder and are still miserable... It's a viscous cycle.
