my wife and i were having an interesting discussion about some of the debates that take place on the board here .

now, granted most people , i feel upwards of 90 % on the board maybe higher try to be respectful in their debates or discussions on topics.

i think we all had enough bashing in the witness organization.

I don't think anyone knows for sure. Just the property alone is a real estate empire, and they own property (some large facilities) all around the world. I think that even the people who keep their books don't have the full picture. There are many corporations... and I doubt that anyone has all the pieces of the puzzle. Wish I had the time and resources to do the kind of digging it would take to find out.

Someone disagrees with you and you start name calling....real mature there HS.
I think you don't know what bankrupcy means. In most cases, a person declaring bankrupcy under law does not lose their home. It is the one asset that is protected from creditors. Forclosure is when you can no longer make the payments on your mortgage and the bank reposesses it. Maybe you can ask John Edwards to explain it...his company recently forclosed on 6 properties in Louisiana they financed.
Not sure why I'm wasting my breath here...you completely ignore my posts anyway. Maybe it's because you can't answer my points...

My intent was not to hijack the thread here, or rehash an old subject.

I provided the link to show an example that bad verbal behavior on the part of many on that thread led to bad results. I have not been upset about this for months. I was "over it" long before that thread ended. I didn't once call anyone a derogatory name...or attack anyone personally. You said that I gave as good as I got. I think anyone reading the whole thread would disagree. If anyone is interested, they can read the whole thread and see how it went. That's why I did not repost individual responses. That would be taking things out of context, and misrepresenting the development of that thread.

Hillary says that when we had a confrontation I gave as good as I got. I have only had one "confrontation" with Hillary, for lack of a better word. I have reread the thread to see if my own memory had failed me... Please point out to me where I showed any disrespect to any poster, including Hillary in that thread..

I think the thread is a perfect example of why we we need to be careful in what we say. You'll notice a poster named BBdodger on that thread. She was a newbie. We pmed back and forth a number of times. She is very young, and was going through a lot at the time. She did not stick around here long. Take a look at her post history.

Emotions can run high when expressing strong opinions. I think that it is far more effective and constructive when those opinions are expressed with respect to everyone who is either responding or just reading the threads. I think that once the name calling starts, everyone starts paying more attention to the verbal blows than the points being made. Name calling doesn't prove anything....it just makes the person doing the name calling look bad. Some threads have reminded me of boxing matches with fans on either side egging them on.

I think we all need to remember that there are lurkers and newbies here who read these posts. Coming here can be scary for a jw or newly xjw... because of what the watchtower says about all who leave the organization. I don't want to do anything to scare them away.

And here's the rest of the story. I met cognac and her friend hypnotic tonight. We met at a coffee shop, and talked for a couple of hours. They are awesome. I am happy to have met them both. They will be a great support for eachother through the rocky road ahead as they find their way out...I consider them both to be friends.

I'm a Pioneer Married To a Wonderful Brother Reaching Out to be an MS...

and petrified... i just recently became a pioneer and always had nagging questions in the back of my mind.

so, i decided that when i have get a study i would research all the questions as i go along so as to prove everything in the truth... i got 4 studies in about 2 months.

all was fine, until i reached i think chapter 6 in the bible teach book about the resurrection.

Here's the update.

I just spent a couple of hours with Cognac and Hypnotic. They are both real. They are both lovely people. Cognac is just as she is here. She's fired up about what she has learned about the organization....and wants to be out. It's not going to be quite that easy for her. Hypnotic is quiet and sincere and sweet. Now that they have shared their feelings about the organization, they will be a great help to eachother through this. I'm more than happy to be there for them. I think I have made 2 good friends. We had a wonderful conversation.
