Did Noahs Ark drift about aimlessly in the Great Flood?
by EliJah inno where does it mention that noah traveled around the world in his big boat.
in fact, is says that the ark was floating "high above the earth".
also, what does matthew mean about "just like in the days of noah?

It was on top of mount ararat Not trying to argue elijah but if my memory serves me correctly, It came to REST on Ararat.
This is true, the Ark did come to rest on Mount Ararat. If you notice through the bible many names are derived from each other hence; Jehoiakim, Jehosphat, etc. etc. Ark is not a known name except for from what we read in the bible. Ark has the same first two letters as Ararat. I wonder what the K means. Also the waters were dried up by the winds that Jehovah caused to blow which made the waters eventually evaporate. And not all life expired except that which was upon dry land. Large fish like whales and such would not have died in water. 21 So all flesh that was moving upon the earth expired, among the flying creatures and among the domestic animals and among the wild beasts and among all the swarms that were swarming upon the earth, and all mankind. 22 Everything in which the breath of the force of life was active in its nostrils, namely, all that were on the dry ground, died. 1 After that God remembered Noah and every wild beast and every domestic animal that was with him in the ark, and God caused a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters began to subside. No. It represented God's means for salvation. It was spirit-directed, i.e. guided by holy spirit. Not spirit inspired, which is a completely different thing, just spirit-directed.
[beginning to become frantic] Why are you opening Roget's Thesaurus? You have to believe me, directed and guided are different than inspired!!!!
Now that you see the truth...we have to arrange a committee so you won't poison the thinking of others with reality! [calls three elders]
Just kidding. Yeah, if the story happened exactly as related there was no guidance mechanism constructed.OldSoul
It was on top of mount ararat that the ark was constructed. Olive trees are from the region of the Middle East, and King David well guarded the produce of the tree. Therefore it seems logical that the ark might have been a method of preservation, and not meant to drift abroad the planet earth. I think the ark was some how anchored until the floods resided. What do you think?EliJah

More to the point, how did this torrent of flood water, which poured down for 40 days and 40 nights, somehow manage to cover mountain tops yet a tree sustained olive leaves which allowed the dove to bring them back to Noah?
Well, this is somewhat easy. Have ever got a snag on your fishing line while realing in your line? I have gotten many snags on branches and leaves. EliJah

No where does it mention that Noah traveled around the world in his big boat. In fact, is says that the ark was floating "High above the Earth". Also, what does Matthew mean about "just like in the days of Noah? Does this reference the recent floods like the tsunami and new orleans flood?
17 And the deluge went on for forty days upon the earth, and the waters kept increasing and began carrying the ark and it was floating high above the earth. 18 And the waters became overwhelming and kept increasing greatly upon the earth, but the ark kept going on the surface of the waters. 19 And the waters overwhelmed the earth so greatly that all the tall mountains that were under the whole heavens came to be covered. 20 Up to fifteen cubits the waters overwhelmed them and the mountains became covered.
37 For just as the days of Noah were, so the presence of the Son of man will be. 38 For as they were in those days before the flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark; 39 and they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away, so the presence of the Son of man will be.

They don't go to war, which is what Jesus Christ taught. This is what sets them apart from any other religion, however as most religions, they also have there shortcomings.EliJah

45 “Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time? 46 Happy is that slave if his master on arriving finds him doing so. 47 Truly I say to YOU , He will appoint him over all his belongings.
48 “But if ever that evil slave should say in his heart, ‘My master is delaying,’ 49 and should start to beat his fellow slaves and should eat and drink with the confirmed drunkards, 50 the master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect and in an hour that he does not know, 51 and will punish him with the greatest severity and will assign him his part with the hypocrites. There is where [his] weeping and the gnashing of [his] teeth will be.
Well it seems to me that there is ony one slave based upon the scriptures above. Notice how it mentions fellow slaves apart from the one slave in verse 49.
And also, why does it ask "who really is the faithful and discreet slave"? Is this a hidden mystery from God? Thanks for your reply :)

Well, I have read beliefs of the W.T.S. and they seem to have quite a few good answers to many questions. I still do not understand the faithful and discreet slave belief.
What is the origin of the faithful and discreet slave?
