I guess the topic, for your sake, should have been titled: "What is the christian apologist excuse for the fact that the gospels show the Davidic line tracing back through Joseph, even though Jesus was supposed to have been conceived of god?" Then your answers would be perfect.

Joseph,
The topic question, as you may have forgotten, is: "Was Jesus' mother, Mary, of the DAVIDIC blood line?"
You will notice the word "blood" in the question. You will also notice that whether or not Joseph "claimed" Jesus according to your beliefs does not change the answer to whether or not Mary was of the Davidic blood line.

But was he Joseph's physical son? If not, then to claim to be of the bloodline of David via Joseph is false, correct? If I "claim" someone who is not a related to me physically, do they become a blood relative?

I don't see how it's going too far....
You reached out to them, to give them a chance to show you that they have at least enough love to show up at your funeral if you were to die.
They said no - how can someone feel sorry for them if they think you are dead? By their own words, they wouldn't even pay their respects.

How is it that Jesus was not physically Joseph's son, but could claim his bloodline? I guess characters in stories can be made to do anything the writer wants...

Ok, lets set the record straight was it a CROSS or a STAKE
by Witchs Son inand what would you say about the book often referenced by the society as a backing for the stake theory, the non-christian cross by j. d. parsons ?.
you can also download it here if you prefer.
i know that book was written in 19th century so i hope that won't be used as an argument against it after all sir isaac newton's principia was written in 1687 and we aren't holding that against it either.

Current procedure for jw infants regarding blood - any info?
by atypical inwith the new year coming around, i am getting ready to (possibly) deal with the blood-card issue regarding my 5-month old first-born (my wife is a jw).
does anyone know, do they expect parents to fill out a dpa or a medical directive for infants, or is that only for publishers and up?
i can't believe i don't know this.

Thank you very, very much Scully. I can prevent that card from being filled out, and I will talk with the hospital and the family doctor.
You are exactly right about how my wife feels - she was reluctant to put it into words, but hinted strongly that she would not try to go against my decision. That's really the biggest part of the battle, so I am relieved.
Thanks again.

Maybe while he was traveling the entire earth, picking up and collecting every type of animal in existence, he also managed to cram a large supply of exotic fruits and vegetables in his miracle backpack.

Hi everyone -
With the new year coming around, I am getting ready to (possibly) deal with the blood-card issue regarding my 5-month old first-born (my wife is a jw). Does anyone know, do they expect parents to fill out a DPA or a medical directive for infants, or is that only for publishers and up? I can't believe I don't know this. I have been gone about three years, and I only vaguely remember a more generic directive for kids than what the baptized people got. I don't want to be blindsided, so any info is appreciated.
Of course, I am not going to permit any type of document or paper saying my baby can't have blood (not a fan of child sacrifice, thank you very much). I just want to know what I might be dealing with.
