I thought it might of been just local to my hall. But if you have ever played football with JWs I am sure you have bruses to show for it. I am quite tall, but as they are all a bit greedy they would ahve a huge game with young children and oler men joining (never women perhaps another issue) anyway, even though I am quite a big guy, over 6 feet. I would always ensure that I was no where near a child to hurt them in any way. If a child was going for a goal I would just let them, I have no pride when it comes to the protuection of children, even when i was an older teen.
But some of the Brothers were so rough that they would not only hurt eachother but you would always hear some child getting KOd. Even I have had a few cracked ribs from the POs brother (also an elder). Any complaint even by my mother was along the line " sure he is a big lad he can take it" not that I should have to take anything from a bastard.
I used to play with worldly people after the game, an I have never been intentionaly hurt. I have had a ball to the face a few times, but always an accident or me just getting in the way.
Why is "foul" not called when JWs play sport?
Why is the spirit of competition so high they would walk over children?
Why does the PO and his Brother actualy break my ribs, yet if I did the same I would have to here it from the platform?

Worst day of the year?

Well everybody has one, more often than not, the influence we have from the org has affected us all. Even to the smallest decisions. For me it has to my my birthday, one of the 7 sins from the org. I still dont celebrate it, essentialy due to the fact i have nobody to celebrate it with. Because of the continual conflicts I have going on in my mind, I rarely tell anybody. So nobody knows. I live far from home and my month wont even phone me on that day, incase it is misconstrude. Getting older, no contact with anybody, feeling bad because something you left can still have such power over your life, fear of change and plenty of other feelings of angst and sorrow. Since many of you may have started celebrating your bd it many not affect you so much, but since the org plays so much on almost any reason to be happy, I am wondering what your difficult days are?

Pollution, the earth will die in 10-12 years.

i dont have a big box of awakes to search through, but i distinctly remember the cover of an awake with a picture of the globe and factories producing smog.
well the mag was about pollution; the core message/prophecy was that the world will mot be survivable in 10 -12 years so we can expect god to step in the next few years.

Steve2, I am only in my mid 20s and I was only forced to read the current WT and Awake, so I know it has to be from 87-> on because I just wasnt there. Nobody really encourages reading the old garbage incase somebody might turn over a skeleton.

One person I do admire is IP_SEC, I dont know how he manages to do what he does. I can barely step foot in a hall with out having about a 1000 panic attacks in my head.

I know there have been other issues raised about god standing in before the millennium, but nobody has raised this one. It would have been in 91 – 95 year of Awake, any insights? Sorry I couldn’t narrow it down more.

Thanks for all your wellcomes! Well I am in asia, so I guess as you all had time to read my post I was fast asleep in my bed. Well continuing some of the discussion raised here. Here is another question I have on my mind. (dont worry I didnt come here just to ask questions) Who are the JW's actualy fighting with? e.g. creation vs. Evolution Stake vs. Cross Blood All the other issues, almost every meeting you attend or do personal study there is some agenda that they have to "keep up the good fight" even after you have been completely indocrinated. Looking back if I am told it is gods wish that we dont use blood, I am given scritural evidence to support it, then I will accept it, I still accept it until now even though I dont want anything to do with the organisation. But they always seem to be fighting with other religions or scientists. But I dont really see any of these scientist taking the time to bother fighting back, ha ha, because its such a worthless cause. I have seen less fighting on this board, then in the hall or the organisation. Brenda, don't worry about about expletives I swear like a docker. Revfrank, I am a little bit scared, well actualy I tend to SHUN anything and everything that might be construde at religious. But perhaps you can help. What would you label a person who has abandoned all forms of religion, to a point that even atheism is to restrictive? All otheres, you really have made me feel most welcome. Something I didnt feel when I went back to the hall.

Yes, well over 2000 threads, almost the whole site, although I have left 6 years ago, I have rarely ever mentioned to people I was a JW before. A hand full of people know. But I had never sought out talking with apostate ha ha, my conscious see. But about a month ago I found this site. As I had the guilt trip thrown at me over not even at least going to the momorial I was reading the official website, you know. But I googled instead and came here. I much say in the 2000 posts, I feel I identify with almost everybody. Experiences growing up, what happened others in the hall, songs I hate, songs I can’t get out of my head, rudderford/rustle... I spend about 4 hours a day reading and cant stop.
