  bringing together all of the stories they told thus far and placing them int he "new world" complete with the little boy who was killed in a car accident coming back from the dead.. i have a good friend who is stuck in with family and plays the role.

  he said everyone was crying, and the people next to him rated the videos by how many tissues they needed to dry their eyes.

  God.

  In the JW vision of the future it's all about you.

  You get to build house where you want.

  You get to play musical instruments in fields when you want.
  

  You get to go hiking when you want.

  It's designed to appeal to peoples narcissistic side - 'the future - you get whatever you want...it's all about YOU!'

  They fail to mention that when Old Yahweh was last in charge the nation of Israel had rules governing every aspect of the lives.

  You obey bitches - or you die!
  

  I wonder how many JW's would be grumbling that clearing up billions of dead bodies didn't marry up to the videos they used to be shown at RC's.

  Adopting Resolutions

  between 1970-1999, i remember different "resolutions" being read and adopted (by applause) at the distict conventions.. i can't remember any of them or even what they were about, or anything about them.. does anyone know anything about these resolutions, or if the wts still reads these at the conventions any more?.

  if anyone has these, could they post them please?.

  I remember one from 1988 when the Revelation book came out. Even when I was in, I always felt they were self serving aggrandising nonsense.

  it's been reported on this forum that bethel speakers at this summer's conventions are asserting that the establishment of the united nations in 1945 was predicted in advance by the witnesses.

  this is being presented as validation of the claim that the witnesses are god's one true organization directed by holy spirit.. .

  the basis for this claim originates with a public address entitled, peace - can it last given by n.h. knorr at the new world theocratic assembly, on september 20 of 1942. .

  JR did serve Adolf Hitler with a letter making him know that (to paraphrase the letter) "your goose is cooked and so is your Third Reich's" It appears to me that in this case Jehovah made the word of his servant come true. -Isaiah 44:26

  Or....he was defeated by people who were willing to fight for their country and freedom. Had everyone taken the JW line and not fought, we'd be a world speaking German and Japanese.

  How you can read a thread like this, that exposes the WT's deceitful presentation of it's own history, and then post that I'll never know.

  and gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual organizations are shocked, and some gay people.

  are reporting the movie to the local police.. the official spokesman of the dutch branch office in emmen declared that the movie is.

  To be fair no it doesn't. The child is encouraged to tell her friend about the paradise and the animals and the resurrection.

  Yes...but we all know the implication.

  "For your two mummies to get into paradise they will need to change!"

  Which in the real world would make them be very unhappy given they aren't gay by choice.

  It's more like saying if you are not in a hetrosexual marriage you will have to remain celibate until armageddon which is "just around the corner".

  Crofty - I'm genuinely stunned you're failing to see this.

  Gay JW's will presumably change their nature into heterosexual once the big A has been and gone.
  

  Straight JW's will not. They will stay straight.

  But in the real world, gay people can't change. That is how they are. The WT is suggesting they can change - if they want to please God.
  

  I suggest you speak to gay ex-JW's, as I have, and understand how utterly miserable this situtaion was for them. It wasn't about being unable to find a mate due to circumstances outside of their control, but being FORBIDDEN to find a mate.

  With any heterosexual JW there is always a chance.

  With gay JW's there is absolutely no chance.

  So to suggest they could change is a hateful stance to take.

  Take some time off line to reach out to gay ex-JW's and find out what it was like to be in that situation for decades (in some cases), with no hope of a way out.

  Being gay in the JW organisation is VERY different to being straight.

  It is relevant, the ones that don't find a mate are expected to remain celibate.

  The JW position is no sex outside marriage. It's ridiculous but it isn't hate.

  I wonder if gay JW's would agree with such a viewpoint?

  I say again:

  Most heterosexual JW's find a mate.

  Zero homosexual JW's can find a mate.
