Wow, heavy-duty stuff, man. I already respected you from reading your posts here. That respect is increased now, with you having told your story in this straightforward manner.

A Silent Ram
by DakotaRed inthis is probably going to be the most difficult thing i have ever written.
but, since i dont plan on being around [here] much longer, what the hell?
for some time now, we have discussed and expressed our outrage and horror at child molestation.

A Dose of Love
by Undecided ini picked up my 17 year old granddaughter at school for my daughter who wasn't feeling well.
when i got to her home and went in, emily my little 18 month old grandaughter came over to me and i picked her up to give her a hug.
she puts her head near my shoulder and snuggles up for about 2 or 3 minutes.

WHAT MAKES YOU THE ANGRIEST?
by minimus inat times we all get angry.
sometimes our anger is inappropriate, as when a parent loses control and beats their child.
there are situations that may rightfully get us angry.

Now someone tell COMF how to spell it ("Foxy"; not "Foxey").
(I call her "Foxey" and she comments on the spelling. Take notes.)
Foxy, I was using the spelling chosen by the guy who immortalized the term "foxey lady" (Hendrix - check the album). However, I see it's a matter of some concern to you, so, for you... Foxy it is.

First and the Last of Rev 1:17 - why in caps?
by Trotafox inreferring to the excellent "kitchen" witness scene in gregbetre's thread regarding jw's denying the deity of the christ, i do have one question..... .
rev 1:8; 17-18; 22:13 states that jesus christ is the alpha and the omega, the first and the last, and the beginning and the end.
i don't think it is true that all jw's will say that rev 1:17 refers to jehovah.

I'm a female.
Mmm, I know that's right! Foxey!
So it basically boils down to just one God and they are the one True God Jehovah and the other lesser mighty god Michael the Archangel aka Jesus.
Still working on counting up to two, are you? -

Spoken like a true atheist.
She said the concept doesn't work when she tries to look at it rationally. Then she said it helps us understand something. How do you figure I was speaking "like a true atheist" because I pointed out the incongruity?
Second question: if it does sound like an atheist, does that lessen the factuality of the point?
"God" -- talk about a concept that doesn't make rational sense or help us understand anything.......
Speak for yourself, man. The concept of God has always made sense to me. It's the evidence that's missing, not the logic.
Still rational people and people who believe in God
You see a distinction, do you?
agree it's good to love, thay just disagree about what love is.
What is this, an example of illogic in action? What on earth are you talking about? Whatever it is, it certainly has no connection with my question to Foxey.

I have a problem if I try to rationalize it.
...it is a concept that has been conceived to better undertand the relationship of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit so our pea brains can better understand the nature of God.
Okay, I give up. How does a concept that doesn't make rational sense help you better understand anything?

There was this spider....
by Mimilly in.... that would easily cover a quarter on my wall.
now, i don't mind the arachnid critters outside, but when they cross that boundary into my home, they're fair game.
if they are camped out on my window sill outside, i'll even name them - but not in my bedroom.

I encourage spiders. I have three on my front porch who are doing a great job of keeping the mosquito and moth population down to managable proportions. One of them built his web from the doorjamb to the door. He's a big ol' rascal (about three inches in diameter) and when I open the door his web stretches a bit, but he doesn't get spooked, he just rides it out. He's been there about a week. Terrorized the neighbor girls when they came selling school candy. They begged me to get him off, but I said no, he's my friendly doorman for greeting visitors.
Here are my friendly tenants. When I saw this thread, I went out and took pics of them. One is circled because he's a little hard to see against the night sky.
I also have a couple of praying mantises (praying manti?), one on the front porch and one on the back patio. Thank you, manti, thank you. Live long and reproduce well.
