Thanks for posting that, blondie. What happens to a JW if they don't show up for the district assemblies? Do the people at their individual KH know and find out? Do they get a "talking-to?" Also, in our area, there are assemblies on more than one weekend. How do they decide which weekend to go to? Do they all travel together, or just as individual families?
Well, I kind of doubt that, considering they are so proud of the fact that they are "politically neutral," as the inside cover of the Watchtower always advertises. Then again, many of them don't seem to enjoy following their own rules, so who knows? But I doubt any of them even would know a thing about politics, nor would many have the patience or intelligence or interest to learn.

i am amazed at the almost complete polarization between cat and dog lovers.. .
i know few who love both.. .
cat lovers argue that cats are more intelligent than dogs.
I would prefer dogs to cats, in general (unless it was a pitbull or something). Dogs are just more fun. Even though dogs sleep a lot, too, cats tend to sleep MUCH more. Plus they just creep me out. I don't know... I find them creepy and sneaky and gross. (Although dogs are gross, too, but not creepy or sneaky, generally).
Plus... I know this is sort of a stereotype... but I associate cats with old ladies or recluses or something! (I'm sorry, no offense to any of you that like cats, I know plenty of people that own them aren't recluses or old ladies and I should really get that stereotype out of my head).

i can remember studying the isaiah books 1 & 2 back-to-back.
during this time i simply never wanted to go to the book study.
it was all so repetative and boring.

I haven't read TOO many of the Watchtower's "books," but from what I have read, I can't imagine any of them being too deep! I could never figure out how people could read that "Knowledge" book over and over again and consider that important information from God Himself!
Or the Requirements brochure... I mean, there is actually a line where they tell the people to wash their hands after using the toilet! Don't the people reading this find this a little infantalizing? I'd be insulted if someone handed that to me and told me to read it.

I understand all the Society's stuff is nonsense, but what in particular about this book makes it individually so ridiculous?

there is a "special campaign" to highlight that magazine all month.. got a call from our po last night.
there is going to be yet another "special campaign" in september -- a new "kingdom news" tract.
