I always happen when you least expect it. Some days it hurts, and somedays you feel sorry for them. What gets me, is you know when you are spotted they go back and tell everyone and everyone always asks what do they look like?? (Cause they ain't got much to do ya know) So you can always guess it will happen when you have got no makeup on and your hair isn't it's best!
Message to: Da_Luvvin_Bruvva and Da_Luvvin_Sister - BE GONE WITH YOU!! (you know what I mean!)
From Da_Luvvin_Bruvva's and Da_Luvvin_Sister's Sis!
I know what you mean. The Borg thinks that if you have got no friends that you will come back with your tail between your legs. Other's may not understand, but we have all been there and will continue to be there for everyone.
this is my first attempt to make contact with ex jws, i would love to make contact with ex jws in cambridgeshire/northamptonshire but would luv to hear from anyone else who wishes to share their wit/humour or just chat.
i have been out of "big mother" for 18 months after spending my whole life very actively associating with jws (all of my 32 years).
I thought the whole experience was a Zoo, no never got to go, felt very deprived though, great to make your aquaintence any way. Give us an email if you want to chat
out of interest, i've just posted the following at: http://forums.delphiforums.com/flame1/messages which is frequented by a number of active jws.. general discussion - do jehovah's witnesses count time here ?
previous | next from: alliwannado 5:16 am to: all (1 of 1) 465.1 it's a genuine question - do jehovah's witnesses count the time they spend posting on bulletin boards or in chat rooms as service time ?
i guess it completely fits in with the definition of witnessing to non-baptised individuals about jehovah's kingdom.
Why didn't anyone tell me when I was a witness? I would have been to pioneer and everything, all without getting wet from the good old British weather!

Yes my last assembly I went to was at Bowes Road, my niece was getting baptised there. I did go to the assemblies at the Pontins Camp back in the 80s also, but only because we were checking out the talent from the Norwich circuit! Peterborough was actually part of the Northants circuit which was held in Dudley.
Just thought that I would say hi. I really feel for you. I am one of numerous sisters who are all 3rd Generations witnesses. We were all pretty screwed up with being brought up in the borg, and 2 of us at least have tried to commit suicide on numerous occassions, some have eating disorders etc. Many judged my sis's hard because the bros thought they were wanting attention, so the best thing they thought they could do was ignore them!! Recently 2 of us (me included) have been disfellowshiped, and yes it does make you feel cut off. I was a real good little christian sister and took on board all that the borg told us about not having all the bad association in the world so felt really cut off. I would say the best thing you can do is to make sure you make loads of friends who are not witnesses and will not pull you down when you have a good business head.
You will get there. But don't let them get the best of you. Remember if you commit suicide no one will be able to come to your funeral, and they will only judge you more anyway, as they see it as a sin and not see depression as an illness!!
don't know how many here are from southern california.
some of the areas here are sectioned off like a canadian pizza (the few that i've seen cut into small squares).
it's because we have so many cities that are sooo conjested they have to build a ton of kh's in order to compensate.. i was just wondering how many besides me have noticed how much nicer the kh's (asuming they all look like this) are in the east in comparison tp the west?.
i really love this web site and yes i'm a jw still, have been for 8 years now, i'm 35 and am married to a jw and have two boys one is 1-1/2 and the other 5. for about 2 to 3 years now i'm starting to see that its not really the truth.
the brothers, sisters and elders dont really care about anyone, the watchtower is ruining my life, i have been depressed for awhile now and i'm on anti depressants as i started feeling suicidal as i'll never be good enough as i hate meetings, i hate going door to door, and it doesn't make any sense that jehovah will destroy good people just because they don't follow its doctrins.
its like saving to your son if you don't do what i tell you i will kill you.
I am also new and have been overwhelmed with how friendly everyone is. Please remember that most Jay Dubbs are depressed but just don't know why. This site has really cheered me up no end because we are not alone.
I would love to email you but can't so if you want a chat please email me, I'm in the UK and know no witnesses in Canada (except you ExPat) so can't get you into trouble.
I am 32 and have 2 children aged 5 and 8 and know what it is like trying to be a good little sister, but if you are not pioneering then you are nothing to the rest of the cong!
when i was a jw - many moons ago, i hung around the 'sound department' at assemblies.. they finally put me to work - and let me do things like string wire for speakers, install speakers, etc.. i eventually learned how to adjust the amplifiers for proper volume, too.. good experience and training, that i don't use to this day.. anyway - i also was allowed to adjust the microphones for the 'speaker' who would be giving the next talk.. this usually involved following the feller out to the podium, and raising, or lowering the microphone to the proper height fer picking up the words from the fellers' mouth.. some required very little adjustment, whilst others required major raising - or lowering.. this one time, i recall going out there, and they had used a new microphone stand - one that had a ring, or collar arrangement that you just squeezed, or rotated and lifted, to move the microphone up or down, as opposed to the older type that required one to unscrew a locking collar, and then raise or lower the microphone.. i had not tested this previously - and only seen others work it, but it looked easy enough.. so, i follow this 'big-wig' out there, stand there, grab the upper section of the microphone stand with one hand, and then with the other i am attempting to <grunt> <grunt> get it... to ... release.. it wouldn't budge!!!
i was there, for what seemed like an eternity, trying to work this thing, then finally reached up and adjusted the horizontal arm - in a vain attempt to adjust the mic (it also refused to cooperate, and i think i only adjusted the microphone a total of 1/8").. the 'big-wig' speaker musta noticed my total and complete embarrassment (i usually turned beet-red in the face), and nodded that it was adjusted properly - so he could git on with his part.. i skeedadled off that stage - and made a mental note to figure out how to adjust that new type of microphone stand - later..
You all sound like very naughty little boyz, I'm just jealous that I was never allowed privledges as I was deemed to only have 1 brain cell as I had an illness called being FEMALE!!
But as I am now out I can reveal that that certain brothers in Peterborough called Jason, Peter and Martin (yes you know who you are and you are all now elders!) if you are naughty enough to look at these kind of sites, used to spend all the time at Dudley assembly hall zooming in with the cameras, checking out all the girlies and who had fallen asleep (that's everyone!). Well one day we knew what they were upto, so whilst taking notes (as I was very studious, or playing hangman) I wrote them a note that they read and apparently they were laughing so loud they got in trouble with the chairman.
