jw rationalization: ... is a hallmark of the religion!
the very theological basis of the religion is a fluid dynamic that can change with the wind to suit the convenience of the gb.
ultimately, the rank & file jw picks up on this and extends rationalization to its limits.

i want to get an idea of how many people have left the org in the past five years.
which of the following years did you leave?.
1998 i left.
February 2001
i am having a very difficult time and i am here right now because i know in my heart, that when i explain what has just happened to me a few minutes ago, you will understand.
many of you are no doubt going through the same thing.. within several posts here, i have spoken of my mother.
my dear sweet mother, who just turned 78, and who has been a faithful jw since 1959. she abandoned me in 1981, when i decided to leave the borg, and for twelve years she did not speak to me, write to me, call me, or visit me.

I know what you are saying, my sister and I are where you are, big hugs to you and everyone who is where we are.

for those of us raised as jw's .
for most of us we were never allowed to explore our full potential growing up.
never knowing if we could have been a great football player playing for the nfl or perhaps an actor or musician or even a doctor or lawyer.
I would have be a door to door sales man, selling some magazines and living on the commission!
Oh, no that's what I did......doh
for decades i heard people say "if i was an elder,i would change this or i wouldn't allow that.brothers and sisters alike would always try to get the ear of an elder so as to enact a particular cause.everybody has their own pet peeves in a congregation.
knowing what you know now, if as an elder you could make a major change in the congregation or organization, what difference would you make?.....this is hypothetical so it can be answered by male or female.
If I was an elder....
II would take down the Information Board which would send the entire congregation into lock up as they would have nowhere to skive off to in the middle of the meeting, then they would all have to listen.
remember, you had the truth!
everybody else didn't even have a clue!
the worldly people never understood our spiritual paradise.
As a JayDubb I feel ashamed to think the way I did.
If there was a famine somewhere or an earthquake it was just another sign that we were near the end, and I never really thought about all those that had just died, but now I get so emotional.
I guess I'm human now!
i must admit... to say that i may have found a church, actually .
feels somewhat strange to say.
with all the recent turmoil and pain .
Hi Lin,
I'm where you are, come out of JayDubbs and don't know where to go. My sister is also out the JayDubbs and is due to be baptised in a Baptist Church. This leaves me feeling a bit strange, her arguement is that the spirit is when a few are gathered together and that he who takes of my blood and body the bread and wine are showing faith in me, showing a need to worship in a congregation.
I'm as mixed up as McDonalds McFlurry but not sure which one!

i've been enjoying scanning bits and pieces of ruth's old 'tower magazines.
many of us will have old copies of the literature lying around, so why not scan something that's particularly meaningful to you?
here's my offering to start the ball rolling.
seymour high school is having parking problems.
according to the new haven register (connecticut) the "town wants to rent church parking lot.
" the question is will jws comply.. http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=5205018&brd=1281&pag=461&dept_id=7577&rfi=6.
Well if it is anything like my old hall, they used to stick nasty labels with glue that doesn't come off all over the cars, apparently you could add an extra hour a month for helping with the LOL
