i once talked to a jw about disfellowshipping and was curious to how can this be showing a christly love when you all out turn your back on them.

he gave me an answer about rightousness and unrightrousness having no fellowship (which is biblical) but it didnt make sense to me.

didnt seem applicable in many ways.

The sinner sees clearly that his sinning stands between him and his association with Jehovah and his clean people.

ok ok ok, lets go through this, sin seperates us from YHWH, but not his everlasting love and not his welcoming arms when they want to come back. as for the "clean" statement, no one can claim that they as a group are clean. look at any biblical group and tell me that they were 100% right on. i cant think of one off hand and i dont think im going to look cause im pretty sure im not going to find one.

but here is a thought, lets take a scenario. if Judas hadnt hanged himself and lived 3 more days, would Jesus have accepted him back? (would he wait till right before he ascended or would he do it right away or not at all?)

They have to make a judgment as to whether a person is repentent and they have to follow WTS guidelines

anyone know what this is?

i tend to agree with you cog, but i want to hear both sides of the arguement, because i think in my mind of how (this is assuming that everything the WT says is correct) if you have a fish tank of water, and you put maybe 1-3 drops of red dye in, the whole thing becomes red, thus infecting the entire thing.....just another thought that comes to mind.....but i want to go more in depth, i dont know much abuot it, basically im told that the person is shunned or shut out of the congregation. can someone please clarify EXACTLY what it is, what happens when someone is disfellowshipped, what if they want to come back? is there forgiveness? etc

paul is talking abuot comparing love with another group of believers (the macedonian church)

so i guess im saying compared to other church's (which can "disfellowship" ppl to a certain extent) what is the difference?

1. so i purchased a new laptop 2 weeks ago and besides the 10 viruses i had a brother in my hall get rid of (i didn't know thats what that anti-spyware thing a magig was for!?

extremly important, the bible talks about how we need to be "equally yoked" i know i could never date a girl who isnt around the same walk with God then me let alone have a whole different belief structure

What do you call the chord I see college students carrying around when they want to transfer material from there personal computer to a public one? I need to buy one. Are there different kinds? What is a fair price I should be paying for one?

they are called USB keys, they come in different capacitys of memory, 64mb 128mb 256mb 500mb, 1g, basically your going to pay $75-200 depending on how much you want to store on the key

Do you think it is smart for me to try a little harder in keeping up the "good little JW" facade to get my parents off my back; Maybe get out in service more (or at least pretend thats where I am going) comment more at meetings, ;etc? i think you should do what your heart tells you to do, all i know is that YHWH God is love, and if they are really folllowing YHWH, then they will love you no matter what you do and what decisions you make in your life. That is exactly what YHWH is about. he doesnt like seeing all the crappy stuff (ie sin) we do in our lives but it doesnt change how much he loves us. that is the kind of love that YHWH asks of us to be loving. now for your parents there is a time for scolding if you are doing something stupid (like stealing the car to go to your friends), but they shuoldnt hassle you for making decisions in your life, they may not agree, but they shuoldnt be hassling you, i dont see God hassling people, just doesnt work in my mind

i have even heard some recent speculation on jesus possibly being born in march which is interesting.. october seems reasonable with the rational of "shepherds watched their flocks by night" and in the december months it would be too cold for them to be out?

Was Jesus the first creation.

as i mentioned in my last post that im studying the book what the bible really teaches,anyway im now on the bit about who is jesus,now it uses the scripture col1:15 does this prove he was created where it says hes the firstborn.

so if jesus was the "first creation" and by him all things (or even all (other) things) were created, then what about:

isaiah 44:24 - This is what the LORD says—
your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb:
I am the LORD,
who has made all things,
who alone stretched out the heavens,
who spread out the earth by myself

contradiction or trinity confirmation?
