I think I am an Atheist (current JW)
by Robert7 ini am writing this group to discuss a topic that as you can imagine i really cannot discuss with too many people, at least as of now.
i am a married male jw, married to a another jw, and she's content with being a witness, and in fact, i don't want to change that if she's happy.. for a very brief history, i was baptized at 19, and have been a jw for 10 years.
fact is, i 'believed' in everything in as much as a lot of it 'made sense' and i was wrapped up in the whole thing.

E-mail from friend alerting me to emergency instruction from GB
by Wasanelder Once inhere's a paragraph from a friend who is active.
they say it's important that we fill out this form about emergencies... poor fools.
"hi, i have been meaning to tell you that the society is telling us to fill out an emergency form that the book study conductors have and return it to them in case of an emergency.they will then give us a brochure to have that will tell us where to meet and what to have in our bags so we can grab them and leave in a hurry.

Everybody should have emergency survival plans in place.
Bags, knifes, matches, first aid, etc.
Edit:
Please, don't drink any Kool-Aid at the rendezvous point! -

Let the find their path.
Daddy, what made that leaf move?
Wind.
Where is the wind?
You can't see it. It's air.
How do you know it's there, then?
By the things it does.
Is that the same with who made us, then? We can't see it, but it does things?
Yes, honey. It "affects" us. That's your vocabulary word for today. -

Don't take this the wrong way, but you were right, and he was right:
you don't have as much in common as it seems. Your mother's connection to the organization was it. He should have thanked you for the honorarium, however. That was tacky of him. -

By the way, I am not an atheist. My posting is an FYI to check out the TRUTH, and deal with it. I don't care about comments. I don't want this to be a thread. If I had mod privileges, it would be locked. It's an FYI.

OK, I was mistaken, like my JWs.
Here is a link that is a video preview of Zeitgeist, and goes into detail about the above link.

Anyone else feel like an emotional mutant at this time of year?
by tall penguin ini've been attempting to infiltrate my friend's christmas traditions in an attempt to understand and appreciate the holiday.
i only had christmas until i was 5 when my mom converted to jw.
before that, christmas was really big in our house.

The problem with most JWs AND most people who celebrate holidays is that they don't stress the cultivation of these qualities ALL YEAR ROUND.
It wouldn't hurt to have people over, give thanks to the Divine, give gifts, and eat and drink whenever you want to.
