i'm off work today with a late summer cold.

i hurt all over in places i never knew existed.

i'm looking across the fields at trees that are just beginning to turn color, but my soul finds no delight in the view.. ah...but tomorrow comes.

think i just did something really stupid.

i have had a bad couple of days.

i was in the playground yesterday and had my jw bil stood right in front of me ignoring me totally (i'm d'ad) but talking to my hubby, who said nothing to him (her my eifes here too or something would have been nice) so i felt like total dogs poo and we both ended up in tears over it all when i got home.

Don't spend so much energy on them. Your unborn is getting a bath of adrenaline and other "stuff" that is more than its usual dose, and you don't want that.

has anyone else seen this movie and what was your take?.

personally it resonated as i grew up in se idaho about 3-4 hours from salt lake and i could identify with the main character's issues with the society in that state.

i'll re-watch this movie and organize a more thought out summary of my impressions.

I grew up the polar opposite of that movie, but parts of it were very interesting to me and resonated with me due to my various experiences, one of which is being a musician. Cool movie. Couldn't hate.

in my area of the world i know of at least 15 members of my family and friends that have left the watchtower because they no longer believe it.

all of them are aware of this site and my viewing and posting on it.

however apart from one, who posts here as veen, none of them to my knowledge are particularly interested in coming to this site.

kathy griffin won an emmy award for her reality show " my life on the d list.

" in her speech, griffin said that a lot of people come up here and thank jesus for this award.

i want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than jesus.. she went on to hold up her emmy, make an off-color remark about christ and proclaim,"this award is my god now!".

My mom called...my niece no longer wants to be one of JWs

my mom called and so did several other folks over the past week to tell me that my neice has announced that she no longer wants to be one of jws and will not be returning to the kingdom hall.

supposedly she made this annoucement a several months ago and no one took her seriously till her mom (my ex-sister-in-law and a super pioneer of more than 20 years) just stopped attending meetings a few months ago.

anyway, since they both seemed to have stopped drinking the kool-aid, i get the conf-call from several family members.

This is a great post.

It strangely reminds me of my attitude in field service early on. I am a very helpful, empathic person by nature, and yet when people didn't want the hope of everlasting life, I was like, fine. I didn't care as much as other aux and reg pioneers did about how many studies I had, etc. If they didn't want the stuff I was "selling," and they were grown-ass adults, then, uh, "forget 'em."

When I realized the modus operandi included not leaving people alone that easy, I guess that was the first sign of trouble. Nothing truly righteous and good needs to be forced.
