Were you allowed to use the bathroom during meetings?

i have read many post on here about abuse that goes on in the kingdom hall.

one abuse i use to see involved the denial of the bathroom to children during meetings.. .

in the kingdom hall i attended like most expected children to sit still for two hours during the meetings.

This meant a lot to ya, huh?

LOL.

Nice first post. Welcome.

You pointed out some examples where the kids were wronged, but there are at least as many, if not double in number, examples where the child is trying to get a change of scenery, and/or cause a little mischief.

two seperate sad deaths in our community

i feel so sorry for the wife and son of this man that lost his life trying to care for a woman being pistol whipped and purse stolen in walmart parking lot.

jacksonville man is shot and killed outside a north little rock department store, the result of a purse snatching gone horribly wrong.. .

it happened outside the wal mart supercenter on east mccain in north little rock sunday afternoon.

It's easier oftentimes for a criminally-minded person to obtain a gun than a righteous citizen.

i know that jws have a mighty big persecution complex, and feel vindicated when doors are not answered, slammed in their face, or people are out and out rude to them.

but to those of you who were involved in fs, and had these things happen to you, did you ever think there might be legitimate reasons for it?

especially in light of the fact that many jws start off the schpeel with, "what a dangerous world we live in.

In some neighborhoods we worked in, when we (males) walked together to doors with only a folder or a few magazines in our hands, sometimes we were mistaken for police detectives canvassing the area questioning people about some recent crime. Happened at least a dozen times over the years.

It's one thing to say one thing and then do another (on a small level), which EVERYONE is guilty of doing at some point in their life. But it is an entirely different concept to continually live your life in a hypocritical manner.

Jw gatherings

do anybody miss going to any jw gatherings?

they pride themselves with staying away from worldly people, but they love to dance to music composed by worldly people.

The most fun I had was playing jazz, blues, soul and a little old R&B at anniversaries, weddings, and gatherings. This group had some semi-pro players and ex-professionals in it early on, and later we had a lineup where everyone was an elder or servant, and some of us were pioneers. We had some fun. Some functions were dry, and some weren't.

things are getting strange, there is a woman who is a little older than me, who keeps dropping hints that she wants to go to myrtle beach with me.. .

i would feel funny taking her there as that is where we spent our honeymoon together.. .

but how has having a place like jwd improved your life?.

It has helped immensely.

The stereotype is that everyone who leaves

(1) just wanted to fornicate, celebrate holidays, and do drugs freely,
(2) thought they were of the anointed and had mental instability and pride issues,
(3) or just became so materialistic and focused on things.

Well, I found out that there is another category: found out they were lied to, and didn't like it.
