Depends how you define 'apostate'. I still believe in God and the Bible so I am not a scriptural apostate. By the Watchtower's self-serving definition though, yes, I am an apostate, because I have left them and speak to others about what beliefs they have wrong.

Speaking of movie analogies, has anyone seen 'The Island' recently. Great sci-fi thriller. So many themes reminded me of dub-land. Everyone is feed a special diet and special rules, is not permitted to think for themselves, taught that the 'world' outside is irradiated, and what keeps them in subservience is a weekly lottery where the winner gets to go to 'The Island', an idyllic paradise (which doesn't exist). Turns out the whole thing is a fabrication, a delusion, all to produce clones for body parts.
JW's are force-feed a specific spiritual diet, told that to leave the organisation and go into the world will have death-dealing effects, not permitted to think for themselves and question their leaders, and they do it all because they believe it is their ticket to 'paradise'.

WALKING IN THE PATH OF INCREASING LIGHT - WT STUDY
by Mary infor those of you not "keeping up with the organization"botchtower deals soley with all the bullshit instances of "increased light" on this joke of a religion god's organization.
it asks many drone-like thought-provoking questions as i've listed below.
incredible that these guys claim to be the sole ownership of what is absolute "truth", yet change doctrines like i change lipsticks.

Although the signs are there that any 'new light' will be about the 1935 date, it would seem superfluous for it to be about this. They have already come up with a whole lot of malarky about the nephinem and now have lots of non-anointed ones in prominent positions at the WTS already, which Barbara Anderson did a great job of exposing. The GB has had members that were born after 1935 for quite some time now, and it has already been stated that any new anointed persons are merely replacements for apples that went bad somewhere along the way. So they have their bases covered already about the great crowd taking on more and more responsibility. In any event, it's just not an issue for JW's. In all my years as a JW I don't think I ever heard anyone mention it. If they bring out 'new light' about this old nearly forgotten date all it would seem to accomplish is getting JW's curious to look into something they had forgotten all about. Some of the borg might be awakened to looking back into organisation's past out of curiosity to see what other dusty old dates are still in the closet that might be thrown by the wayside, with 1919 being the next most logical date to get the big 'expired' stamp on it.
Could the 'new light' be something about the UN? There was some talk after the NGO scandal first broke that the GB were going to do exactly that, but that they had to quickly put it on the back-burner. Perhaps now that the NGO scandal has gone quiet they may feel it is safe enough to bring this 'new light' about it out now. Then there was the mini 'new light' in a 2003 article that said we shouldn't speculate and that we don't know exactly what agencies Satan will use to attack God's people. That could be taken to indicate perhaps they want to back-pedal from Fred Franz's chimerical and completely speculative view of the UN in bible prophecy.

To DA or not to DA that is the question
by lola28 inhi guys, as most of you know i have been inactive for a bit ( august of 2004 was the last time i turned in time) i changed congregations in december and have pretty much faded.
last night i had a talk with someone and he asked me why i was still in, why not just da?.
my answer ?.

I've sometimes thought about DA'ing but then when I work it through it really will accomplish nothing practical to me, except alienate and marginalise me. Usually the reasons I come up with from time to time for why I might DA pretty much just turn out to be a kind of psychic petulance when I have angry or hurt feelings towards those I've left behind. It just feels like nothing but some romantic notion of getting 'revenge' more than anything, similar to some kind of insane 'cry-for help' that a suicidal person might rationalise. At the end it seems that I'm the only one that would get hurt.
I'd rather still be able to talk to JW's and perhaps sew a few seeds of doubt here and there. As I am opposed to the Society's shunning policy it also feels wrong to pander to that policy by cutting myself off and forcing other brain-washed JW's to shun me.
