Great letter!
"Stay busy talking to people about things you are convinced of-Jehovah's
Kingdom, the new world, the coming abyssing of Satan, and so
forth. Perhaps Jehovah will eventually give you a different
perspective on this question.
We send you our warm love and Christian greetings."
Wow, amazed they havn't disfellowshipped you for this. They have disfellowshipped a lot over the NGO thing and for disagreeing on 1914, etc, but they are happy for you to stay in the congregation and just focus on the 'things you are convinced of'...Have you been talking to others in the congregation about your views?
Is the Society starting to take a more moderate view on those with 'doubts'?

"Be warned! When judgement day comes the Watchtower false prophets get it first. The scriptures say that the "Judgement starts with the house of God" so this means that anyone who proclaims to be the one true religion gets dealt with first and severe."
Sounds like e-watchman. -

JW's preaching a 'touchstone' for life or death
by yaddayadda inwatchtower may 1, 2006, pg 30 para 14: .
"when we preach the good news, hearers have the opportunity to become subjects of god's kingdom.
further, the way people react to that message provides a touchstone, or standard, against which christ the king can judge mankind.

Yes, and how many persons on this planet have even had a JW visit them anyway? Is God going to wipe out two billion Chinese and Indians cuz they havn't had JW offer them some mags?
How much more absurd can you get. -

Watchtower May 1, 2006, pg 30 para 14:
"When we preach the good news, hearers have the opportunity to become subjects of God's Kingdom. Further, the way people react to that message provides a touchstone, or standard, against which Christ the King can judge mankind. (Matthew 24:14; 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10)"
Huh? I thought they abandoned this idea when they dropped the belief that the sheep and goats are now being separated?
2 Thessalonians 1:6-10 says it is those 'who do not know God and those who do not obey the good news about our Lord Jesus Christ' that are destroyed, not those who do not listen to JW's version of the 'good news'. A JW coming to your door hardly ever talks about Jesus. They talk about paradise, government, world conditions, etc, but rarely will a JW talk about 'the good news about our Lord Jesus Christ'. And wasn't the whole idea of Jesus message was that to 'know' God was much more than just some mental understanding or legalistic adherence to law? -

Does anyone else feel like their damaged goods?
by MsMcDucket ini feel like this all the time.
i have a husband that loves me, but i still feel like if i ever were on the singles market that i would not be a "good catch".
my health problems and most of all being a former jehovah's witness makes me feel less than perfect.. i'm having a pity party.

The WTS are energy vampires and esteem beaters of the worst kind. It's totally understandable that you may be grappling with feelings of insecurity and unworthiness, even self-loathing at times. Time and love heals all things.

After being a JW, do you experience panic when someone expresses disapproval
by Elsewhere inhaving grown up in the wts i was always taught that there are very serious consequences that result when those in authority do not approve of you.. q: what happens when you break a wt rule?.
a: very quick and brutal punishment in the form of shunning and ostracism.
there is no middle ground... you either get no punishment or extremely severe punishment.. having grown up knowing only those two possible outcomes i find that i tend to become panicked when friends or authority figures express disapproval.

"There is no middle ground... you either get no punishment or extremely severe punishment." That's not true really. If you 'humbly repent' and show works of forgiveness, you are just put on reproof, or lose some privileges. Still humiliatin and canmean you can just get treated a bit more coldly for a while, but you are being a bit too black and white methinks.

Panic attacks and Jehovahs Witness!
by Gill inhow many of you had panic attacks when you were a jw and when leaving?
i know of many jw women and a few men who suffered badly with panic attacks.
since recently having another spate of panic attacks i suddenly realised that i had been having them all my life.

Must admit I sometimes feels panicky about getting towards middle age yet feeling quite alone since I left the dubs. Have had trouble connecting with 'worldlings' and making new friends etc. Sometimes miss the friendship and social life in the organisation. Often wake up feeling an uneasy, antsy feeling of being very isolated and different somehow. Just my mind playing tricks I know as I work through the transition.

For the Christians on this board
by Honesty in.
is jesus real to you?.
the reason i ask is because a few weeks ago i was talking with two young men about him and one of them turned to the other (his cousin) and said, "i know jesus is real.

I've always believed in God and Christ. I've never had any personal experiences of God or Christ that one could say proves they are 'real', but in moments of occasional doubt I always remember all the supernatural experiences people have had that surely proves there is something else out there. And even without that it seems obvious through reasoning on cause and effect that there must be some great mind and and power behind creation.

arwen's disassociation letter June 8, 2006
by arwen injune 8, 2006. .
dear .
there are many things that i could say....many true accounts that i could attest to of unjust acts done to people and inexcusable sufferings caused by many in the congregations of jehovah's witness to others, at times by myself as well sadly, but there is nothing anyone can do now to make up for the wrongs that have been done to those that have been hurt....leave it in jehovah's hands that is what i have been told by those in charge., this has always been the answer....so i will do just that knowing that he will repay those who have treated others so badly and that continue to do so.

JULY 15TH WT STUDY ARTICLE QUOTES....
by Mary inwarning: ad nauseam quotes:.
keep free from murmurings - august 14, 2006 study.
par 16: murmuring focuses our min on ourselves and our troubles and pushes into the background the blessings we enjoy as witnesses of jehovah.

These murmuring articles are great, especially the Society's comment about 'treachery' within. A lot of JW's will be curious about this comment. Many of them absolutely love to murmur and gossip about whats going on in the organisation and congregations, the latest development, some juicy or scandalous news. Many of them after reading these articles will pick up that something is amiss in the organisation and wonder 'what on earth is being murmured about....what's this talk about 'treachery'..' and they will start to ask around, desperate to find out what all the gossip is about....sooner or later some disgruntled member of the congregation will mention the UN scandal, child abuse scandal, etc, etc. These articles will also help tip over the edge those who are fed-up and on the edge of the organisation, looking for a reason to leave. The articles give them motivation to get onto the internet to find out whats going on behind the scenes...
Nice job Watchtower of shooting yourself in the foot! More articles like this please to stir the rank and file's curiosity!
